"The club are doing things right, it just doesn't fit in with the hissy fit nature of seemingly everyone in existence nowadays. By being patient, we shaved £10-15mil off the Summerville price, the player ended up pushing for the move after speaking to Lop. Still confident Duran will sign. AWB should get over the line eventually, Man Utd notoriously difficult to deal with. Contrary to popular belief, Fullkrug would actually be perfect for us, holds the ball up and brings others into play, supreme finisher with both feet, and just about the best in the air up top in world football at the moment, as we know our manager loves crosses into the box. Does lack pace, but we'll now have loads of pace around him to be fed. COYI, happy to have a bet with you, money to charity, we won't finish in the bottom half, if you're convinced we'll be relegation battlers, put your money where your mouth is."

"Fullkrug is decent no doubt, but Duran is what we need brilliant at pressing from the front, quick and a great shot on him. He alsu desperately wants to play for us and I think it will still happen. He would transform our attack."

Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread

Post Russ of the BML »

"Things are looking more rosy today. Summerville came out of blue. I thought that was just a cosmetic bid. But with Duran deal dying and Fullkrug now close, Stiedten obviously pushed for this and Leeds caved in. Very good player and should bring a real spark and buzz to the attack. Fullkrug was impressive in Euros. Always going to be behind Havertz who coaches seems obsessed with (can't see it myself). But when he did come on he looked very dangerous and, as others have said, he caused Spain huge issues by playing slightly deeper and dragging their CB's out. He also knows where the goal is. For Hannover he scored 34 in 80 games (approx a goal every 2.5 games. For Bremen he scored 46 in 99 games (approx a goal every 2 games) and for Dortmund he scored 15 in 43 games (approx a goal every 3 games). So he is averaging a goal every 2.5 games. Not too bad. I think the plan with Fullkrug is to bring him in to compete with and support Antonio and then this gives us more time to assess and see who's available in Jan or summer 2025. I have heard that Wan Bissaka is definately still on. Its just that with Summerville and Fullkrug taking shape its pushed it back slightly. Hopefully we get this revived and done."

"At least we are finally bringing players in and building a squad. It might not be perfect or players and positions we'd buy/fill, but let's judge the new guy once the season is underway. I don't think Lopetegui or Steidten are stupid, they wouldn't sign these players unless they thought they would do a job for us."

"Lets hope this Jimmy Summerville deal is done and soon, medical today according to YT channels! Hopefully it does not turn out to be bollocks and a case of ""Don't leave me this way"""

You’d hope Ings would go & be replaced by a younger prospect Don’t mind Antonio as an impact sub late in games If Summerville is coming you’d expect Cornet is on his way. Would be a useful part payment to Leeds Is Wan Bissaka close? Like most I was wondering why Walker Peters wasn’t taken in the Downes deal. Was reading that the Downes fee was used to pay what we still owed Southampton for JWP True?

"In isolation Fullkrug could be a good addition, but yea having three strikers over 30 just ain't good at all. I still fancy someone might take Ings on deadline day."

"If Fullkrug is additional to another fast, powerful, young striker then I welcome his addition. If not, then it makes no real sense to me.... unless we just want to curate 3 strikers with a cumulative age of 100, just for a laugh, like. Anyhow, happy with Summerville. Some defenders please"

Fullkrug was the only striker I saw cause the Spanish problems at the Euros If we are going to try to be 30yds further up the pitch he could work to hold the ball up for Kudus Bowen Paqueta & it seems ‘Jimmy’ Summerville Just need to sort out those defenders Understand Lewis Orfords 5 year contract is also close to signing

"Great news with Summerville, an attacking player to excite the fans, we have done well with this one, don't forget we also have the Brazilian for that side too. See Gallagher is off to Atletico Madrid."

"A foreign 31 year old to replace a 34 year old we can't get rid of, that we previously failed to replace properly, with a now 32 year old english striker we can't get rid of either. What could go wrong? The ticket price hikes are justified."

"Füllkrug would be a decent buy. Yes he's not young but he is big, strong and knows where the net is and he's got a hell of a strike on him. Reminds me a little bit of Giroud."

"Vexed - there's a reason he's a crowd favourite. Ok, so he's not a long-term solution but to call him slow and ancient is very wide of the mark. He seems like a really intelligent striker too. I suspect that telling Villa to fuck off and going for the cheaper option in Füllkrug has helped to enable the Summerville deal to happen. Great to have a proper left winger at last. Things are looking up."

"goose - agreed, and I wouldn't be surprised if the main reason we have splashed out on Summerville is because we know the Duran deal is dead and Füllkrug is going to cost a lot less. Yes, I am disappointed about Duran but Villa were definitely trying to pull our pants down by demanding an exorbitant fee for someone who has been no more than a bit part player for them. I'm glad we stood up to them and I hope Duran goes on strike and then Watkins gets injured. People who are saying that Füllkrug is a carthorse have no idea. Yes, he's more of a traditional number nine but he is not just strong but highly mobile and very intelligent. These two deals could make a massive difference."

"Complete guesswork from me but I reckon we could now go for the 23 yo Brazilian striker Yuri Alberto who is probably the cheapest option at 17m... he meets all the criteria, young, goalscorer, prospect. Getting a proper LW gives us more options up front, Bowen or Kudus can play CF so less pressure on bringing in someone like Alberto. Obviously helps that he is the cheapest option but like Duran he could be a great prospect."

"He mainly played as a RW when he was under 18. He's a right footed LW, which is what we need. Let's just hope he proves better than Cornet and Benrahma."

"Things we need badly: striker, CB, RB. I know let's blow the budget on another winger, according to STATS played more on the right that the left too. Great Scattergun shit. Grandad immobile German striker incoming as well as a non attacking right BACK.CB? let's ask the geezer that has said no about five times now... What the fuck is the strategy?"

"Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano · Follow 🚨⚒️ Crysencio Summerville to West Ham, here we go! Deal in place between clubs for package in excess of £25m with add-ons. Summerville agreed on long term deal and he also spoke to Lopetegui ahead of move. Leeds United accepted the proposal and he’s now set to sign. That’s an absolute steal if true. Bit unbelievable to be honest."

"Looks like I could have held my breath… This is a huge signing as it means that we will have a proper LW rather than playing Kudus or Paqueta out there. My hope for a midfield of Paqueta, Alvarez and Kudus is alive and well!"
