"There's no fucking way we're paying 30m for a big lumbering 31 year old German that has never played outside of Germany. If we were to do that, the scarf cսnt should be fucking sacked on the spot. No chance."

"Saw that Lee... hopefully our option, not his. 30m definitely getting into the realms of being a bad deal. They paid 15m a year ago... 30m is being greedy and too steep. Perhaps we will go back in for Duran at 37m?"

Reports coming from Germany suggest it's €30m (incl. add ons) for Fullkrug now on a 3+1 year contract. Hopefully he still has it at 35 years old.

"From my mate, a Leeds fan about Somerville I’m not sure he’s worth it tbh. He went missing a lot last season and by the end clubs had him figured out, I’m dubious about how he will fair against PL defenders."

I see Gonzo is not happy regarding Fullkrug .. wrong direction etc . Personally I’d rather this than be held to ransom on other strikers like Duran 20m overpriced. Let’s just wait until a young striker at a reasonable price comes along . Villa too greedy. I still don’t rate Wan-Bassska

Vexed - the difference with Kante is that these days he spends most of his time crocked.

"Sport Witness Defender released from training for ‘contract negotiations’ with West Ham said to be in picture By Sean Lunt RB Salzburg defender Oumar Solet has been released from training for ‘contract negotiations’ as West Ham United continue to circle him. That’s according to Salzburger Nachrichten, who say the defender remains a possible exit for the Austrian club. The newspaper explains that Salzburg sporting director Bernhard Seonbuchner is currently busy working on the squad as he looks to bounce back from finishing second in the league last season. It’s already been a busy summer for him as Strahinja Pavlović has left to join AC Milan while Luka Sučić and Oumar Solet have also been linked with moves away. The latter is reportedly on West Ham’s radar as they continue their rebuild under Julen Lopetegui and focus on signing new defenders in particular. Now he has been released from training by Salzburg in the last few days for ‘contract negotiations’. “Yes, there are a few rumours that we will not comment on. There are certainly a few things moving, but there is nothing major to report in terms of transfers at the moment,” Seonbuchner commented when asked about rumours. Now usually players being pulled out of training is a hint at an imminent move elsewhere, but it remains to be seen if West Ham are close to Solet at this point."

"We have a year, possibly two, of Kudus before he moves on for £85m+. All being well we already have his replacement. Fulkrug gives us two years before we need to spend again on a striker and he looks as though he should do a good job. Obviously a younger striker would have been preferable but the team / squad is shaping up nicely. We can now hopefully get rid of some of those surplus to requirements and possibly add more before the close of the window."

"Get French Football News West Ham join Premier League rivals in race to sign PSG’s Carlos Soler Once again, Paris Saint-Germain are set to strengthen considerably in midfield this summer. Gabriel Moscardo has already arrived and is in first-team training with his new team-mates, and it is understood that he will soon be joined by João Neves, who is set to arrive for big money from Benfica. However, in order to accommodate the new recruits into an already stacked midfield, departures are needed. One seems imminent. Renato Sanches has failed to keep fit since joining PSG from Lille OSC and is set to join Benfica as part of the move that will see Neves move to the Parc des Princes. Manuel Ugarte continues to garner interest from Manchester United, although an agreement between the two clubs is yet to be reached. Carlos Soler is another prime candidate to leave. The Spain international has been a fringe player for Les Parisiens since joining two years ago and he will be allowed to leave should a good offer come PSG’s way. Aston Villa showed interest in Soler in January, as did Brighton and Hove Albion. The latter remain interested and have enquired about a potential move and they have been joined in the race to sign the midfielder by West Ham United, according to L’Équipe. Soler’s contract with PSG runs until 2027. Soler spacer"

"I cant imagine Fullkrug would be 25m, 15m is what most have been saying. Even so that's quite expensive for an old codger. I like him though, good attitude and technique but I'd hope for pace and again it's dead money. Most seem OK with it but we're up in arms at the possibility of Kante for the same money, which is odd."

"I agree, I thought he looked pretty decent at the Euros. But for €25m? Not for me, I don't think. He was €17m a year ago, and is now a year closer to retirement. It's all very well people suggesting we just go out and buy and spend whatever, but they'll probably be the first to moan when we have to sell someone next summer to get in line with FFP because we're buying players well over their market value. Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture."

"Lee Trundle 2:50 Thu Aug 1 Fullkrug may be kicking can down the road a bit. But that may be the best option right now. Either Sulli was dicking about too much and / or Villa got greedy so Duran looks dead. Our other target El-Nesyri didn't want to come and signed for Fernebache. Sortloth we offered decent money but Villareal bumped the price up. So the fact that Fullkrug wants the move and Dortmund are negotiating means it may be a stop gap of some sort. But what a stop gap. One of the best looking 9's when he played at the Euro's and averages a goal every 2.5 games. So, yes, I do agree to a point but it is what it is. He's a very decent player. So I will take it."

"All we're doing with Fullkrug is kicking the can down the road a bit. We'll likely end up with the same situation we have with Ings at the moment, but hopefully he'll contribute a bit more. I'd be surprised if he turns out to be much of an asset for us. And again, the money being suggested for him is way too much."

Vexed I think a minor difference between Jimmy and Benny is that Benny played more often centrally as a 10 for Brentford than he did for us plus for whatever reason his confidence was shot... Summerville looks to have a better shot on him and an eye for goal too I was never convinced by Bennys shooting never struck it cleanly enough.

The justification of AWB I have seen is that he is much more competent defensively so that will allow Bowen to concentrate on playing higher up with less defensive responsibility. Hopefully trying to play higher up the pitch and have more than 30% possession will help a lot of players Duran would have been a good signing at about £25m but Villa got greedy Jota Silva signs for Forest

"I must be missing something with Summerville, it seems such a universally well received transfer. I watched a fair few Leeds games last season and must have seen every bad game he played or something. At least it's a position we needed filling and he's young. I assume this means we won't be signing Duran, who I wanted us to get. However, knackering Villas transfer plans is amusing."

"I dont like any of these three mooted signings really, Fullkrug is old and slow despite what the site librarians say, he's not what we need after targeting pacy strikers for fucking months. Summerville is a more direct slightly more one footed Benrahma and just as flakey. Wan Bissaka has no attacking traits at all, great defender but we need attacking full backs that can cross if we're going with a carthorse up top. Fucking shitshow as far as I can see."
