"Into August now and we have still only signed an uncapped centre half for £40 million notes and an 18 year old, unknown Brazilian kid. It's pathetic. Relegation battle looming."

I do as well Every chance the German is being used to prod Villa into realism. As far as I have seen noone else is bidding for Duran Also thought as well that they were keen to delay the transfer to keep him out of the opening day

"I still think we will sign Duran, maybe wishful thinking. I think AWB helps us attack because he's better on the ball and better at keeping possession, doesn't have to be flying forward and crossing. We just need to make sure we can play out from the back and he helps us do that and of course helps us not get raped down that flank as he's quick and good one on one, definitely improves us going forward and back IMHO"

Man Utd cant buy the Moroccan until AWB is sold ... how the mighty have fallen ... so in their interests to find a figure between 10 & 18. Was reading in an article that the deal for the Moroccan is expected to be £21m. We agreed £16m with add ons until the agent wanted £5m for himself. Sounds like Man U have agreed to that. They do like over spending ... AWB was £50m to them of course

"I wondered myself are Villa delaying because we play them in 2 weeks ,but that would be some gamble when 40 mil is at stake, so I don't see it. Also, if it is a genuine issue a ''gentleman's agreement'' that he doesn't play in that game isn't that fanciful, it's just one game."

"Jimmy Summerville set to be announced today once he completes his medical. I also think Fullkrug will be confirmed today. He is allegedly flying in to finalise deal. Apparently though, Man Utd wanted £15m for AWB, wanted to pay £10m. All was agreed at £12m. We agreed personal terms with player and now Man Utd have come back and said they want £18m. Not sure how true that is but its doing rounds on socials. I must admit, Summerville, Bowen, Kudus, Paqueta, Fullkrug, Antonio....It's exciting and looks like an attacking group that will definately ruffle feathers."

"Fulkrug seems like it is a smokescreen to force Villa to lower their demands for Duran Duran left out of the Villa squad for their pre season friendly last night and seemingly on his way out down to who will blink first, be surprised if Villa will want to do a deal before we play them opening game"

"Vexed - team of the tournament? Hahaha no Kanté wasn’t. Why do you keep making stuff up? You’ll be claiming he plays anywhere in midfield again soon. The irony of you talking about people’s houses when you live in a fucking static caravan is hilarious. I’ll send you my address, pop on your Lonsdale crops and come see."

"Surprised Dortmund want so much dough after buying him for 15 mil a year ago, seems way too high for a glorified carthorse. I see they have just bought Gross from Brighton for 8 mil."

"Well we offered 15m goose as you well know so 10m more (that's 150 x the value of your house if that helps) for a bloke who's y'know... competent. I think I'd take the world class fella who was in numerous Euro24 team of the tournaments (none of your lot made any of them, fyi) and clearly still brilliant. Even so at 20m would have been overpriced given his age, which makes Fullkrug at 25-30m an absolutely fucking awful deal. Quite obviously. Now go get your fuckin shoe shine box."

"I know you’ve never left the country, but even an idiot can understand different currencies. Kante was quoted between £20 to £25m. Fullkrug €25m. So very similar prices. As for world class? Maybe 5 years ago. Now he’s semi retired playing league one standard football in Saudi. Whereas Fullkrug is playing regularly for champions league finalists, and is two years younger. You ain’t half dumb."

"Is Fullkrug the player that sorts out our long term striker situation? No. Is he a big upgrade on Antonio and Ings, can play in the Lopetegui style of dropping in, linking the play, and then getting in the box on the end of crosses? Absolutely..can we feed the inside forwards with reverse passes and assists? Absolutely. He'd be a big upgrade on our current situation, and is likely more 'oven ready' than Duran who has big talent, but is very rough around the edges. In terms of output next season...Fullkrug is likely more of a sure thing. Has kept Haller out of the Dortmund side. Long term Duran *might* be better, but he's volatile and could be a flop or on his bike within 6 months. I'd be happy with either, am not bothered by his (Fullkrug) pace as it's not a Lopetegui requirement for his number 9, where pace in the inside forwards is more important, and linking play, keeping possession and attacking crosses is more important."

"I thought Fullkrug was a good signing at the 20m euros being suggested. If it is closer to 35m euros then I do feel that is excessive for him, especially at his age. If we pay that we may aswell have gone balls deep and paid Villa for Duran."

Ideally we are putting this out in public to get Villa to wind their necks in on the fee for Duran £30m & some extras based on achievement would be a level we could go to on Duran £15m & extras is tops for a 31yo German who has never invaded Europe

"Vexed - 2 weeks ago you were gagging to sign a 33 year old, semi-retired Kante for £20 odd million. Now you want ppl sacked for signing a 31 year old for a similar amount who's just played in the CL final."

"There's no fucking way we're paying 30m for a big lumbering 31 year old German that has never played outside of Germany. If we were to do that, the scarf cսnt should be fucking sacked on the spot. No chance. 15m is a fucking pant pull."
