"Been reading other sites and a couple of ITK on two of them are both insisting Duran still happening. I really like the look and sound of him and hope we sign him, I'd have him all day long I've Fullkrug, not that I think Fullkrug isn't good I just prefer him. But apparently we're buying both Interestingly a Villa fan posted on Kumb said his attitude isn't that bad, said he's an excellent player and too good to sit on their bench, he said he would be a great signing for a club who is the size of us or Villa and they're lucky enough to have two great strikers like that, but Watkins is never injured, he also said were they to sell him for £100 million he'd be very happy for Duran to be their main striker. He's not playing up to leave for a champions league club or because he's being greedy with money, the bloke just wants to play football and he wants to play for us. So hopefully it still happens."

ED - The only business we have done as we speak is for a defender who you don't like and a kid from Brazil. But yea if we can get these players in in the next few days then I think most will be buzzing for the Villa game.

"Fullkrug: will we be allowed to sing German(ic) songs for the guy when he hits the road running/back of the onion bag, or will the Woke Police slam down on that claiming cultural appropriation?"

"As said previously, we're doing things properly, as much as it will devastate some, Sullivan has got in a proper operator in Tim, who contrary to popular belief is the one doing the business. The manager will be given the tools, it's down to him after that. If you're not happy with the business we're doing, then fuck knows when you'll ever be happy. Chance we still get Duran, but Fullkrug is going to be top notch, just go and watch a Youtube montage, geezer is an animal in the air, sublime finisher with both feet, and is not as slow as some think, although he's not quick. We need to move on from thinking we need an Antonio type player. Buzzing for the season now."

Don’t know how true it is but an article I was reading about these transfers said the offer to Fullkrug (31yo) & Rodriquez (30yo) were to 2027 & 2026 Probably better than 5 years taking them into mid 30’s Still think there is a fair chance that we are using the German to bounce Villa into a better price on Duran

"Most of the players Moyes signed to suit his low block/counter and set piece tactics look to have no future aside from possible sub roles to perhaps cgange tactics late in a game. Zouma, Soucek, Coufal, JWP, Ings all lacking one or many ( sometimes all ) of the following attributes necessary for a team that keeps the ball well and presses fast and relentlessly when out of possession. Namely, great technique ( instant control and highly accurate passing ) pace and energy, mobility. Unfortunately, most of these Moyes picks are on high wages with little sell on value. Ultimately thet represent the negative side of his legacy. We really did fvck up not moving Moyes on a season earlier but Sullivan, perhaps understandably for once, had no appetite for a media backlash if sacking one of the last long serving British managers who had just won West Ham a trophy after 40 odd years. Suspect Steidten and Sully knew he should be let go but the bad PR threat was too much. Cost us a lot of money in the end"

"I would actually prefer Fullkrug, not that Duran couldn't be decent as hes obviously got talent, but he does seem to have a touch of the Balotelli's about him and is far from a proven or mature player yet, not popular with Villa fans and his antics have raised some eyebrows! The German guy, you're getting a good pro who will be decent fit IMO and has by all accounts been encouraged by his own national team manager to make the switch to the PL which he thinks will help his 2026 WC chances. He maybe 30 but has good 2 or 3 seasons in him i reckon, the fee isn't outrageous so think it's the better option. But what the fuck do i know, in Lopi and the Scarf botherer we trust!"

"The fee for the German seems OK, we were never paying north of 30 for hm. He seems a 'safe bet' I think we know what we are pretty much going to see from him. Are there any wise ones left still claiming it's a smokescreen to get Duran in?"

Apparently the free signing of Guido instead of Fofana is about redirecting money into Duran… don’t know how much of that I believe but seems at least feasible.

If all these signings that are pretty much done are announced then we have had a decent transfer window. Fulkrug I think will be a good fit for the Premier league. Jury was out on Duran both on whether he can do it in this league and what his character is.

"onsideman - Xavi, the outgoing Barca manager had agreed to sign him and he's a current Argentine international with a WC winning medal, so not too shabby, plus he played with Alvarez in Mexico for three seasons."

"Can’t say I didn’t want Duran but the price was stupid and a lot of people saying it’s both of them (I don’t see that). I’m guessing he will have all the runners going off him and I wonder if we will have a youth punt come in. Got to mean Antonio or Ings off. Swapping Downes and £18m for Guido, could look very very good in the short term."

€25m plus add ons for Fullkrug. So £21m on real money plus a couple of mill if he hits target. That’s really not bad.

"There have been repeated stories over the last six months or so that Aguerd wants away but if you watch the clips of him in the USA with his team mates, welcoming Bowen and Areola back today he couldn't look happier. If JL wants him to I reckon he will stay and the new style of play should suit him. Hopefully we can move Zouma on and replace with a better squad option or give Casey a chance."

If / when Summerville signs I think that will be the end for Cornet. Not sure about his wages but he’d be a useful signing for a Championship club Don’t think Soucek can play under this manager. If we do get Rodriguez I reckon we could get a decent fee from somewhere like Germany. Might be enough to spend a bit extra on Duran. The best we could do with Zouma is retire him to Saudi where his dodgy knee won’t be such an issue & he can do what he likes with cats. Lots of talk of Aguerd & Emerson leaving. Hopefully both stay & we find another centre half
