"Once we see Soucek, JWP, Coufal, Mavropanas on the bench or moved on ( not all of them but one or two) I suspect we will see a much better executed possession game. I still think Antonio can do a job for 60 mins or as a sub as teams get tired. Fullkrug will need good service and crosses into the box. H I can see why we may still looking out for another creative midfielder in addition to Paqueta. On a good day, Paqueta can be the difference but some games he goes missing or is just nullified. Another player to open up teams is necessary. Kudus and Somerville should be able to help with getting thru teams but someone else in central midfield. Especially now we are likely to face teams in a low block, with the double pivot etc as we will be dominating possession. Without Paqueta’s 2 bits of indivdual skill against Celta Viga we resembled Moyes team last season struggling to create chances. Suspect, we got to get rid of some deadwood now before any more incomings. Zouma we are stuck with unless we can pay him off, Ings is saleable but we will likely need to subsidise his wages, Soucek and JWP are probably most saleable although they both arguably represent a plan B if we wanted to switch to going direct and lumping balls into the box etc Going to be an interesting next few months. Hope Loppy is successful and gets us clicking and earning points relatively quickly because we have to make Europe or likely lose the crown jewels ( Kudus, Paq, Alvarez, Bowen and even Todibo) ."

Not expecting too much at first as we have a new style of play and trying to integrate new players. I also found it strange that the second half of the last preseason game we played a Moyes team except for Kilman . But in this league if you let it slide for a while it can become a crisis.

"The right loan is a big step forward for a youth player Defoe, Rio and Fatty all benefitted tremendously. With Earthy, given how he settled in, I wonder if it could have happened last year"

"Earthy going out on loan is the right call. Him getting starts every week over the odd 10-15 min cameo here and there for us is better for him. Plus developing in a new environment, stepping up in terms of importance within the squad. All good things for him improving. Best of luck to him. One of JWP and Soucek will be sold.....hopefully Soucek. J Lop has obviously seen them in pre season and training and realised what Moyes couldn't......hence why he wants Soler at PSG to come in to replace them"

"COYI - Must admit I thought the same thing, I thought he had made step over from youth into first team squad. What I also liked about him was he seems to have a bit of 'attitude' and didn't look fazed at all being with the big boys, like he belonged. All that said, if the club, coaching staff and presumably the player think it's the right move then I think we should trust their judgment. At least it's Championship and not League 1."

Earthy going out on loan would be disappointing. Was hoping he would get minutes from the bench this season. Shipping him out for the season would suggest one or both of Soucek and Ward-Prowse will be staying.

"Only time will tell as you say Manuel but I tend to agree AWB could be one if the best signings. His issue has been injuries last season or two. Lets hope our medical process was more stringent than when we signed Zouma :-) Todibo has the best reputation based perhaps on his early career then the move to Barcelona but really has only found form at Nice. But that looks to have coincided with getting a proper run in a team. Premiership is a step up but French players have been successful in the main making that move. If AWB and Todibo are successful you would think our biggest weakness has been addressed. Kilman I agree did not look rock solid defensively alongside Zouma then Mavrapanos but looks good on the ball. He did look better against Celta Vigo and as Wolves fans say he needs a good partner alongside to really excel. Lets hope Todibo is that man and it really looks, as mentioned, that he is key to sorting out the weaknesses defensively. Sommerville is quick but looks like one of those wide players who blow “hot and cold” so not sure who fills in for him wide left as back up? Rodriguez from his one half against Celta Vigo looks efficient, tidy and one of those players who go about strenthening the team almost unnoticed with pressing etc. That said, will be great to have Alvarez back sooner than later as we may need the pair in away games against better teams. Fullkrug? Looks slow as we were told to expect so will need good service. Ideally we get another faster, younger option but remaining budget may not allow that. Only time will tell if the German can cut it in the Prem with West Ham. In most clubs, even those credited with having the best recruitment ( eg Brighton) not all signings are successful but we have to hope that Steidten and his analytical team have a process, method that leads to most of them being successful. Take the example of Fullkrug, his etfectiveness at Dortmund will be as much down to the players in that team, their tactics and set up and his role. A good attitude and skillset is necessary of course but doesnt mean it automatically means success in our team. Fingers crossed like I say that Steidten and co along with Loppy, the head coach, can repeat what Alonso did at Leverkusen who recruited a lot of players when he joined. They were not the most hyped, many of them, but clicked immediately and Alonso himself said the club were surprised how well they did as the team were mediocre the season before. To me there is only one measure of success this season. European qualification because the loss of players from another season in Europe may see Kudus, Paqueta, Bowen, Alvarez and even Todibo and AWB looking for the exit door?"

"I think AVB will likely prove to be one of our best signings this summer. I don't want to go all COYI but I'll hold back my excitement for the time being as a few of our signings still need to convince on the pitch IMO. Kilman - Looked ropey in pre-season. Summerville - Great in the Championship, although went missing in the play off final, yet to convince in the PL. Fullkrug - Never played outside of Germany, jury out a little for me, but hopeful he will be good. Rodriguez - Looks a good player, but not sure if he can take us up a level type of player. Todibo - Looks to be the real deal, but again time will tell."

Will be very amusing if little old uppity West Ham manage to get a tune out of AWB when the mighty Manchester United couldn't.
