Zouma is going nowhere. It was well known he was broken when we got him Our Medical must be the easiest to pass than anywhere else. Do they even do a medical or just if they can walk in the door they are in. We can't even give him away.

"Soler is reportedly a creative central midfielder with great technical ability or at least at Seville he was. So, on paper, does fill a gap. Seems we have to offload the dead wood first though. Ings, Zouma, Cornet, and probably one from JWP/Soucek?"

"fraser - fair enough, just saying that it isn't worth it IF it means we need to sell Kudus to balance the books."

Even though we’ve had a good window I’m not sure we’ve addressed the real problem in the team. The middle. Paqueta is our only technical player that plays somewhere in the middle. And even then he gives the ball away a lot. He’s better as a 10 because of that. So without a technical CM with flair I feel it just puts more pressure on our defence and also makes it harder to keep the ball and dictate the game. Does Soler or Rodriguez solve this?

"Soler is a simple one for me, when Paqueta was injured or off form we had no creativity and hardly won a game last season. We even look lost in games when he went off. That's why we need another player who can make us tick. What happens if Paqueta gets an injury which rules him out for a couple of months, it's the same reason we were interested in Soule we want two for every position so we're covered."

"the exile - agreed, we can bring in 40m by selling Soucek and JWP who won't feature heavily in the first team this season. Also think we can easily cope without Soler who will cost 20m... so that's a net difference of 60m. I think everyone will be very upset if Kudus leaves in the next two weeks... one full season of him without the constraints of Moyesball isn't too much to ask is it?"

"Shorty - Yea good point that. For me Kudus is our best player, not world class yet, needs to improve on his final ball and decision making still, but a real talent who gets bums off seats. I'd be gutted if he went this window, but I don't see it."

Maybe City are preparing themselves for life in the Championship.? Flogging Alvarez for big wedge. Then bringing in Mubama. Has vibes of us buying Hugill. Until their court case is done. I can’t see Man City spending big on Kudus or Paqueta.!

"Agreed. We have absolutely no need to sell Kudus and it would be a very backward move to do so. If we need to raise funds, especially with Soler coming in, all the following should be considered surplus to requirements and either sold or sent out on loan: Soucek JWP Irving Ings Cornet Orford"

The more players we have signed the more I've thought that Kudus could be off. Hope it doesn't happen as all of the excitement and expectation among the fans for the season will deflate straight away.... I think it's just Kudus's demeanour but he never looks very happy does he?

We dont need to sell Kudus but you'd expect he'd be off next summer when the rumoured £85m buyout kicks in That said if I was Man City having banked £80m for Alvarez I'd be moving Grealish on and offering us something over that £85m now to head off other clubs Not that I want to give them ideas

"I don't see liverpool paying what we'd want (80m+) and I've no interest in any package deals for such a good player. city may pay it, and weirdly that's roughly the figure they got for alvarez"

"Saw a Podcast that had Harry on it today suggesting he's heard (from someone he states is close to the player...agent no doubt like Silkman) that Kudus may not be with us at the end of the window. Liverpool (signed no one, need a plan for post Salah) and City (flush post Alvarez) are both logical destinations. Wouldn't surprise me if he went...we've clearly gone over our budget for this window in incomings and still want more, and of the players in the side Kudus is the one who doesn't quite fit whilst also being the most saleable. We also know the model Steidten comes from is to sell one 'big' player per season to finance further investment, and we have signed Summerville to play left wing. Kudus out the door before end of the window...could well see it."

"Jlop must of seen Soucek and JWP and wants to fuck the pair of them off. Soler he knows well, is in his prime and available on loan. Get him in, take the ££ for Soucek and JWP Good business"

"It sounds like you have it all worked out son. We don't only have one 'playmaker' the likes of Bowen, Summerville and Kudus can all create chances, let's not forget Paqueta was pretty poor last season. Soler will play, or not, based on his own merits, i.e how he does in training, how he plays when he gets his chance, he won't just be playing musical chairs with Paqueta."

"Yeah I do and I never said he'd be twiddling his thumbs. Lop said he wants two for every position Soler is a playmaker of which we only have one, he would sometimes play instead of Paqueta and Lop uses 5 subs most games so all players get game time and Paqueta either gets banned or leaves. Then we have one player already and have to replace Paqueta to get 2 in that position again. Besides isn't he completely out of favour at PSG so coming to us and getting game time for a manager he knows will give him game time and in the PL may be a more attractive proposition to him. Apparently Southampton are signing Archer, Villa's other striker, hopefully they're signing someone or Duran will be off, if we don't sign Duran because we signed Fullkrug that's not great business IMO"

"fraser - Is it? Do you think they will tell that to Soler? My money says you are over thinking it. If Soler comes in he will be fighting for his place like everyone else, not twiddling his thumbs waiting for Paqueta's fate. I'd rather give chances to the likes of Orford, Potts and Earthy than a 20 mil back up from Spain."

Surely Soler is the Paqueta back up/replacement contingency plan.

Well done Tim & Lop… Much prefer a full balanced squad… Rather than a small unbalanced squad like Moyes… Go Hammers Go…!!!

Not sure about this Soler fella and/or where he would fit in? Duran is the one we should be going tits out for at this point. Brighton have had a very good window and will be interesting to see how they go.
