I would swap Soler for Cornet even if he costs more lolly.

Understand the problem with Aguerd is that he is on PL wages that are beyond the mainly French clubs that have expressed an interest Presumably we want to get our money back or close on the fee

"Cornet and Zouma will be gone by next week, who knows with Ings. Incredibly Cornet still has 3 years left, JWP the same, Dinos 4. The wage bill for the next season for the half dozen or so players we no longer want is approx 30 mil, not to mention big losses on any fee. Who the fuck is accountable for all this? Moyes made some horrendous signings."

"I don't actually think Soucek would be as easy to sell as some think. We're in an age of (arguably too much) statistical data, I can't think there will be too many clubs desperate for a nearly 30 year old central midfielder who averages about 10-20 passes per game, is slow, doesn't move into space to receive the ball, but excels at defensive headers, on big wages. Unless the club wants about £5mil for him, I can't see it happening."

"Agree Zouma, Ings and Cornet are the ideal outgoings but Aguerd or Soucek would be more sought after? Aguerd was not in the squad last weekend and was awful in preseason and physically inadequate for the Prem imho Trouble is the shocking squad management of the Moyes tenure is again proving a real problem. Only played 14 out of 25, we recruited a few players he didnt want and a several on very high wages that are now proving impossible to shift. This is now looking like meaning we are “under cooked” with the squad rebuild that Loppy and Steidten are overseeing. Central midfield, central striker and left back come to mind. Ok left back is more about having a better back up than old man Cresswell but centre mid and forward positions we dont have the purported Loppy objective of “2 for every position” unless you count Antonio but for me he shoukd be a wide player and always was really but made a good fist of playing centrally for 2 seasons. Ings, Cornet, Zouma and Aguerd are a big expensive “millstone around our necks” now unfortunately :-("

"Yeah, I guess Soucek would be OK as some kind of super sub, when we're desperate to hang on to a lead or try to scrape a draw or win by pumping balls into the box. As someone here pointed out the other day, he's a box to box player who's fuck all use when he's not in either box. If you want to play a passing, possession game he's an absolute liability."

Soucek would be easier one to sell. His goal STATS outweigh his performances and he's the Czechia captain. JWP completed more passes in the few minutes he was pitch compared to Soucek who played the whole game.

Obviously Zouma & Ings will have to go to free up wages but no fee for either Surprised Cornet hasnt gone already JWP is saleable ... maybe back to Southampton or another promoted club Can see the logic of keeping Soucek (though I would sell) but not as a starter for his knack of late goals Apart from last Saturday of course when he spooned over from a yard

"Canvey - I don't mind either of them two them going, particularly JWP, but agree they're not the worst players to have on the bench. Zouma, Ings and Cornet are the three that we really have to shift. Rumour mill is suggesting Lop likes Soucek and wants to keep him. Despite all his faults he does have a habit of popping up at the right time in the box."

"Don't know if these ratings for Carlos Soler represent the ""truth"" but I suspect they get nearer to it than COYI's rantings taken from https://sofifa.com/player/234153/carlos-soler-barragan/ Movement 76 Acceleration 75 Sprint speed 75 Agility 77 Reactions 73 Balance For comparison Jarrod Bowen's ratings are: Movement 79 Acceleration 76 Sprint speed 78 Agility 83 Reactions 81 Balance Based on this I would assess that he is not super quick but no slouch either"

"Soler is as slow as fuck. So he will fit nicely into our slow as fuck, plodding midfield of plodders. 'Guru Tim' and 'Loser Lop' are really doing a number on us in this transfer window. Relegation battle ahead."

"Nice pun comma but also the right question :-). Will he provide energy, running and pressing, passing etc like say a Rodri or is he more like a Modric or Pirlo or something completely different? Has anyone watched Soler for any length of time? Based on the last couple of seasons, don’t we need a player to play thru in the centre when Paqueta aint on the song and one that turns defence into attack but has some of the Rodri steel? Not sure that exists tbf but we look so slow, a yard off and when we get it continue with a plodding style build up, and chasing shadows soon as the opposition nab it back. What will be just as effective is removing the players that struggle with possession, pressing or the physicality. Soucek, JWP come to mind. The Argie free transfer ( Rodriguez ) is a CDM and more of an anchor and I suspect he is the backup for Alvarez although may team with him in the “double pivot” in games where we dont expect to dominate the ball? ( eg City) Anyway we need another option creatively but also energy. Lets hope this Soler and dropping Soucek, JWP and adjusting other areas ( eg Coufal , Antonio replaced as starters ) transforms the performance from last Saturday where in reality we should have lost by 4 or 5"

Fulkrug will score goals for us . But like haller and scamacca needs service. Hopefully under lopetegui he will receive it . Even during the euros it was obvious the German supporters liked him . Given the strikers they've had klinsmann Muller bierhoff kloss voller etc they know a good striker when they see one .
