It appears the club has decided against signing Egan on a free transfer and will instead use Casey as a fourth choice centre back (although in reality I doubt he will be trusted and Alvarez would drop to the back if two of Kilman, Todibo and Mavrapanos were to get injured).

This makes sense. Absolutely no point in wasting wages on a Sheffield United cast off.

The consensus seems to be that he is coming in as cover/4th choice CB, but there are no guarantees that Todibo is the real deal and the jury is still mainly out on Dinos. If Matip does come in and can get up to speed I wouldn't be shocked to see in becoming a starter. Could be the new Dawson? Thoughts?"

Financially an expensive window for the club. Used to clubs like Chelsea loaning out a load of players on the final day. JWP. Still surprised we let him go for the year. 30 in a few months. Chance of decent a fee (as he’s clearly seen as surplus) next season are unlikely. Ings looking to see out his final year on the bench. May end up getting a modest fee for Aguerd but again not close to what was paid. Some good incomings so can’t complain! Hopefully the squad can gel and the manager can get the team playing well.
