This is the original comedy that raised the comedy bar before Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Extras and such like, which must have been heavily influenced by Gary Shandling's genius comedy. Private Dancer 2:07 Mon Apr 27 I'd agree with that. Series 3 and 4 aren't a patch on the first 2. Was orginally only written to be a two series job and was changed at the last minute due to it's popularity

"If you're not taking the piss Frank (thought everyone knew what it was about), it's about the drugs trade on the corners in Baltimore. The Wire is obviously the five o's trying to catch the Barksdale gang in the act with wire taps and surveillance. Fucking superb programme and Omar is one of the best characters in anything ever."
