"Miike - I actually think it was me that mentioned Fargo to you before, or maybe not. Exceptional tv. Stuff like Billions and Goliath is just tv for the sake of it. Average shit."

"Just finished season 4 of The Americans, which is superb. Season 5 has just started and Season 6 will be the last. Highly recommended. Started the LAPD drama Southland, which I missed first time around. So far so good."

"PD, watch Fargo. first series up there with anything, second series better than most of the shit produced now"
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Finished Breaking Bad now. Overall I didn't find it amazing like most, but the last 2 series were good when it all started kicking off. 3 episodes into Narcos and it's excellent. One of my favourite facts is that Escobar had so much money laying around, that rats ate 2.1 billion dollars worth a year."

"Billions Season 2 - Shit Goliath - Average Stranger Things - Average Apart from Narcos and Gomorrah imo there hasn't been anything top drawer out there for years. Go back to shit like The Sopranos, The Wire, SOA, Boardwalk, Prison Break, Breaking Bad etc, shows of that quality just ain't out there now, shows. Ray Donovan and Banshee were/are pretty deec mind."

Just seen the first episode of Feud. It's about the making of What ever happened to Baby Jane and the rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davies. It's surprisingly good.

"Just finished Patriot on amazon prime, very good and with dark humour, reminded me of Fargo but without as much violence"

"Just watched ""The Swingers"" on All 4 - Very good drama on what happens when two Dutch couples go swinging, albeit a bit contrived. With subtitles and surprisingly few actual sex scenes. Bonus was very few adverts on All 4 but I guess if it becomes popular they'll stick some more in."

"Billions is one of those where I can't see past my dislike for the main actor. I realise this is my problem entirely. I started watching Oz last night. Bit late to the party, I realise. I loved it, Mrs Pony did not. Will be pursuing this one solo."

"OccupyGreenStreet 3:57 Tue Feb 28 It's a great show. Series 2 really raises the bar, as if it wasn't high enough. Series 3 airs later this year and I can't wait for it."

"OccupyGreenStreet 3:57 Tue Feb 28 Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls I loved Bureau. Apparently the guy who made it made a film in the Early 90s: The Patriots (French: Les patriotes [le pat ÅiÀàj…ît]) is a 1994 French film by director √âric Rochant which focuses on certain activities carried out by the Mossad, as well as describing some of their operational tactics. It is a fictionalized account of two separate missions undertaken by the Israeli secret services. The first part relates the acquisition of the plans of the nuclear power plant which was later bombed by the Israeli Air Force (the Osirak nuclear site in Iraq). The second part of the movie is an interpretation of the Jonathan Pollard spy scandal. Apparently it was so well done that The French Secret services used it as a training film!"

"Finished Narcos yesterday - was very good in parts but became a bit predictable and mundane towards the end. Started Peep Show, as never seen an episode. Need to watch Billions, Series 2 as well.."

"Ilford Hammer 12:47 Sat Feb 11 Good call that, getting addicted to The Bureau, superb stuff. Done S1 and now a couple of episodes into S2. Like all good series, it's difficult not to race through it but I'm bound to be missing some of the nuances of the espionage and intelligence set ups."

"Not a recommendation, but has anyone seen The Owl Service from the late 60s? Really didn't know what to make of it."
