"Watched the first episode of Westworld. I found it a little repetitive and slightly confusing, yet am intrigued. Worth sticking with, or not?"

"Not sure Brendon Gleeson, great actor that he is, fits my view of the detective in Mr Mercedes! Good viewing but it should have gone to HBO"

"Currently watching ""The Affair""' mainly because it has Ruth Wilson in it who I really like (played the nutty bird in Luther). It's not in my top 5, but more than watchable."

"Just started on Mr Mercedes. You'll have to wait a few weeks for the full first series but it's shaping up really well. Cast is spot on, even if they did add in another character and change the background for Jerome, it's very good. If you enjoyed the book trilogy, you'll definitely take to this."

"I've recommended an Icelandic murder mystery quite a few times on here, called Trapped. Best thing I've seen in last 12 months. After an avalanche, a small town is cut off from outside assistance, and the local police force have a murder on their hands. Much more too it than that, and it's both beautiful and gripping. If you liked The Killing and perhaps other Scandi-noir, then you'd like this."

The Bureau is fucking superb. One of the best TV shows ever in my opinion. Series 3 has just finished but isn't available in the UK yet.

"Agreed W4. Once I've finished with S3 of Narcos I'll be on to S3 of this. Really looking froward to it, which is rare, but S2 was a cracker."

"Mart O 7:13 Thu Sep 7 Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls One thing I caught up with quite late is 'The Bureau' or ""Le bureau des legendes'. In French with subtitles, kind of like a French 'Homeland' but much better, brilliant writing and acting. I've watched the first two seasons recently. Really excellent TV. _________________________ its absolutely brilliant - agreed series two is even better than series one"
