"Godless was really good, although I do like a bit of horse OPERA, as was Ozark. You try The Deuce, Miike ? Worth a look."

"bell I couldn't stick with Designated Survivor. It was teeth-itchingly liberal and dripping wet. I really liked Godless. Proper baddie in that. Currently a few episodes into Ozark, which I'm enjoying."

"I'd quite like to visit the area where VtbL was filmed, as it's very easy on the eye - can't look at the Wiki to find out where it is yet, for fear of spoilers."

"I’m about 3 or 4 episodes in on The Deuce. Very good so far, gotta lot of people out of the wire in it. James Franco is superb as well. Well worth a watch."

"Box sets should be banned. I can feel I'm about to get hooked on Vanished by the Lake, Channel Four's Walter Presents' latest offering. Mr Avila isn't as good, but I'll probably go back to that after VbtL"

"started watching Godless which is pretty decent , Preacher on Amazon is well worth a watch , thought Gomorrah was shit and gave up"
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Need to get back to Gomorrah. I watche the first few and as getting into it. Will give it another try. Banshee gets better. I think season 1 is arguably the worst.

"There's a Storyville on the iplayer called 'last men in Aleppo' about the White Helmets who dig people out of bombed houses. I never thought I'd see anything that would make me half want to go and fight in Syria against the bastard Assad and the Russians. It's like the director said 'let's show people all the stuff you never see on the news. The dead, crushed babies, the torn apart bodies, the people that if you knew them from work they'd be good pals. All doomed to die. I'm torn between being glad I saw it and wishing I could un-see it. ____ Exactly- I had to stop watching it to be honest. Walking around with a bag pickking up nits of children blown apart is too much for me. I really enjoyed Norskov and am enjoying Aquitted- both on walter presents on C4"

"Mart - Gomorrah is still fucking good, but I wouldn't say it's got better than the first 2 series myself."

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"I love this thread as without it I would have missed out on some of the best, cleverest TV I've seen in ages. Subarra, Mindhunter, Ozarks and Godless. I thought I was fucked for good telly after the the fantastic The Vietnam War- all 17 hours of it. Couldn't have been more wrong. Add to that 18 episodes of The Jim Jefferies Show and one of my all-time great British programs, the third series of Detectorists showing now on BBC4 and it feels like a golden age. And I've still to wade into Gommera. There's a Storyville on the iplayer called 'last men in Aleppo' about the White Helmets who dig people out of bombed houses. I never thought I'd see anything that would make me half want to go and fight in Syria against the bastard Assad and the Russians.
