"Just watched first two episodes of Godfather of Harlem. Prequel to American gangster. All about Bumpy Johnson, denzel’s mentor in the film. Ain’t bad. Only thing I don’t like is that it’s set in the late sixties and they use new rap music in it. Surely should be music from that period of time. Other than that ain’t bad."

"Eddie B 12:12 Sat Oct 5 Manifest is tying itself in knots. It'll be cancelled after the third ""season"" which will end on a ridiculous cliffhanger and well be none the wiser about what happened in the first place."

"Also, without giving too much away, can somebody explain to me the rather large hole (among many) in the Capture plotline.... ...the chubster woman who saw the faked footage from the CCTV room - how come she saw all of that, but didn't see them filming several versions of the same incident, from multiple angles, over several weeks, at the very same spot? Surely she's have said: ""Oh yeah, I remember there was this ludicrous group of overpaid and under-utilised barristers who, naturally, were always going to link up with a series of relatives of victims of crime, to set up an entire TV set on the street in order to film the fake abduction of one of them simply to prove an already-existing point that CCTV can be doctored. Yeah, they were there all week, rehearsing an attack of some sort, and, now I come to think of it, that was indeed unusual. Because, lo and behold, by some extraordinary coincidence, such an attack just happened to take place just at the same spot."""

"The finale of Capture was predictably poor. You could sense that the series ran out of steam in the penultimate episode - when the dramatic over-reaches just went too far. By the last half an hour of the final episode, the writers had nothing left to give. So the production company used all the classic tricks of long, lingering shots (alluding to the ""difficult"" choices facing the characters), and serene music overlaid with near-slo mos. It's almost always a sign that they've run out of ideas of how to end something. Classic TV series where a decent concept is prioritised above seeing the plot lines through to a decent finale."

"Currently watching Manifest and Succession. Manifest is.... alright. Typical Yank programme, trying to be too clever for its own good, and getting tied up in knots. See Lost and The Walking Dead. Succession, on the other hand, is a modern classic. So good, cutting and topical. Probably cos it's written by a Brit. The recent Hibs and Hearts exchange was fucking hilarious."

"Charles Manson is only in it briefly but they do talk about him a bit. Season 2 is focused on the Atlanta child murders, was a very good series bit of an anticlimax the last couple of episodes though. I saw online there could be a 2 year delay between season 2 & 3"

"southbankbornbred - Agree it has spoilt it a little bit, couldn't see why Emery decided to go 'sky-diving' with his body double? Still give it an 8/10 and I'm looking forward to the final episode. Agree on Netflix, Mindhunter is very good and looking forward to S2, which I think involves Charles Manson."

"""Unbelievable"" on Netflix is very good. Based on a true story, decent actors throughout, tight script and the ""drama"" is not over-the-top. If anything it is under-stated and reflective. Proper use of an eight-part drama. Also recommend Chimerica, which was on Channel Four a little while ago. Imagined history of ""Tank Man"" from Tiananmen Square. But the best series that has been recently available is Mindhunter. Excellent script, well acted, great storyline (about the FBI's behavioural science unit, which developed the concept of the serial killer) and all based on real cases."

"The Capture started out well, but this week's episode went beyond that all-too-common tipping point of complete incredulity. Without giving too much away (spoiler alert!) the plot by the world's most unlikely underground movement (full of highly paid radical lawyers who seem to have an inordinate amount of spare time on their hands and poverty-stricken relatives of victims of crime), plotted from their bunker inside a post-apocalyptic nightclub from Mad Max (which is definitely where you would find highly-paid barristers), seemed, shall we say, a little ""needless"" given what they were trying to achieve. If you can readily prove that video can be doctored, which they could, then who the fuck would put their entire lives at risk by taking on the CIA/MI6/MI5 and others by plotting an elaborate disappearing act - not to mention a potential perversion of the course of justice - just to make the point? Nope. It went from decent conspiracy thriller to over-the-top fagash from the Marvel Comic generation. I'm out."

"I'd recommend 'The Capture' on BBC, last episode next week, if you can hang on, then watch them all on I-player. Same sort of thing for 'The Confession' on ITV, last one next week, Martin Freeman and Imelda Staunton are excellent in that."

They're not related at all. All 4 versions are just 3 episodes set in a police interrogation room with completely different stories. I imagine it was only done like that for marketing purposes. Netflix try to make original content for most of their markets anyway and doing it this way might encourage viewers to watch more of the foreign stuff.

Watched the first 2 myself. What’s the story with the different version of it being released. When I first seen it I thought they might have been tied in or something

"I recommend Criminal on Netflix. Basically one or two act plays set in a police interrogation room, with a semblance of story outside regarding the detectives' personal lives. Watched the first two so far. David Tennant and Hayley Attwell respectively playing the suspects. Both very good (though Agent Carter can't quite hold a chav accent). Interestingly (or not depending on what you find interesting) other countries' versions have been released at the same time on the platform."
