"Joe C 10:22 Tue Dec 28 There's bits of his Robot books that continued after Foundation that are in this first series. You can watch it as a stand alone series, but if you've read all the books (were there 7?), it helps!"

"You absolutely do not have to have read Asimov’s books to watch Foundation. I’ve read them and the series (so far) is only very loosely based on parts of the first book. But, it’s still very good. Got better as it went along, and the last couple of episodes were superb - looking forward to the second series. Lee Pace particularly was excellent"

"BillC79 8:53 Tue Dec 28 Foundation is based on the Asimov series of books, so it helps if you've read them. It's ok - got Jarred Harris in it, so can't be bad really. Invasion was ok as well. Nothing that hasn't been done before though."

"Has anyone watched either of the sci fi series on Apple? One called Foundation, the other called Invasion. Just wondering if they’re any good. Agreed with those that likes White Lotus, Ted Lasso and Succession. Watched Wheel of Time on Amazon - alright if you liked GoT style stuff"

"If you want to be up to date, you have to either pay for it, or nick it off the internet at the mo. The Paramount Channel has shown the first two series, but still no sign of the third and fourth. Paramount+ is launching in the UK early next year and will be included with Sky Q - so should be available then"

Have been enjoying Gomorrah. Probably delivering the story that everybody has been wanting but maybe a little flimsy the reasoning behind it.

"Can't all like the same thing and I used to work with a bloke who actually sat there fuming whenever I mentioned I thought both Bob marley and Bowie were average amd would bring it up a year later in conversation still angry. Thought breaking bad was average as well and turned succession off after about 3 episodes, yet managed all of Ash v evil dead which TV connoisseurs probably think is shit (and in reality is). Give me Deadwood, BoB and Justified any day of the week."

"Manuel, I think you'd enjoy Succession more if you viewed it as a comedy rather than worrying about the storylines. For me the plot is there just to make the characters do hilariously awful things."

"low - Yea, don't get me wrong most of these shows are all very clever and obviously written by highly intelligent people. But like I say, with Succession there isn't enough sub plots and variety for me. Take Roman for example, he has no storyline, nothing going on. In the first season when Kendall killed that kid in the car that was a good subplot, so I don't know why they don't write more storylines like that? The whole show is just about the family business. Anyway, hardly fucking important :-)"
