"chim chim cha boo 1:33 Sat Jan 29 'I've never been really struck on Martin Freeman (and I don't really know why)' Could it be because he's a big-mouthed leftie with a tax-avoiding missus that he seems to insist gets a part in everything he's in. Plus he's got a punchable face, was shit in Fargo and ruined Arthur Dent."

"Another vote for The Responder here. I've never been really struck on Martin Freeman (and I don't really know why) but in this he's barely recognisable and his acting is superb. At heart it's the usual ""good cop, bad cop' story but is an excellent watch none the less. On iPlayer now."

Just started watching The Newsroom. Halfway through series 1 Very engaging though a little preachy a la the West Wing - which isnt that surprising given Sorkin is behind both.

I know it’s been mentioned a few times but what a brilliant show Mr.Inbetween is. On Disney plus 26 episodes and every episode is 25 mins long. Bloody brilliant and I’m gutted I’ve only got three to watch. Some of the acting is award worthy. The highest rated episode in series 2 got Me choked up. Tv at its best

"Alfs 4:12 Tue Jan 25 Watched to the mid-season break of Ozark. Shockingly good as always. Just 7 episodes left (released ""later in the year""), and Season 4 is the last by design. Will really miss it when it's over."

"Rattled through The Falcon and The WInter Soldier. Enjoyable if the whole MCU is your thing. Also finished Macgruber in one hit. A guilty pleasure, you know it's shit but a fair few laughs (and throat-rippings) along the way. Just started Loki. Not too sure at the moment tbh."

"Rattled through a few on Netflix Two serial killer mysteries: The chestnut man was good (danish) The mantis was also decent (French) I started watching another Belgian one about a a football player who’d be found dead by suspected suicide, but then it got taken off Netflix before I’d finished the third episode which was bloody irritating Also two Harlen coben adaptations - the stranger and stay close are worth a watch (though I find james ‘one trick pony’ nesbitt a tough watch at times)"

"Got around to ZeroZeroZero since it's only 8 episodes. Seem to recall some going gaga about it when it come out? I'm 5 episodes in and think it's decent, but won't live long in the memory. started Ted Lasso, of course it's garbage, but it's decent garbage with the odd laugh. Just watch one every couple of days or so, just 4 episodes left to watch."

"Yeah that was a bit clumsy, but I suspect it was probably more to educate the audience a little bit as to 'how bombs can work' so they get it out of the way without having to explain it later. Pressure pads, second detonators etc. and it felt like the tutorial bit at the start of a video game. But it did make her look really amateur as a supposed explosives expert with military experience because you'd expect her to be well aware."

"Yeah, we'll see Scorch but my first gripe was the fact it's called 'Trigger Point' and one of the first instincts one of the bomb experts had was to touch the most obvious Trigger Point....... a light switch.....that's like Sold asking for a full on pint in a pub!"

"Side of Ham 2:33 That's my concern as well. How does an explosives expert solve a case when it's not their job? Maybe that's where the boyfriend comes in as the DI, but Vicky McClure is clearly the lead character. I'm thinking to keep her relevant probably a trail of bombs will occur where they work out through those who the perp is- they mentioned their time in the army so maybe (this is far fetched) they'll realise it's a person they encountered or someone with a specific vendetta against her and her partner. If they go off piste and she just does detective work then no thanks!"

"I'm guessing it will turn into the investigation of who set the bombs, but I tend to dislike things when someone who is an expert in one field suddenly thinks better than those high up in another field like investigation.....like that forensic thing where they end up doing more of the detective work than the highly qualified Police team signed to the case......anyway lets see how it pans out.....it is by the writers of Line of duty......"
