Agree Manuel 100% with all that but did you try Severance or The Devil's Hour?

"Nags - Yea, as I have said a few times now I haven't seen anything really top draw for a long time now, probably the last season of Gomorrah, I thought The Offer was decent, as was Dahmer, and the new The White Lotus is a good yarn, although not as good as the first one."

"Yeah, it's 6. Personally thought it trailed off a bit in the last 2 episodes but overall it was very good. Great acting and cinematography."

Five Days at Memorial is a really good miniseries worth watching. It's about the events at a New Orleans hospital during hurricane Katrina.

"Pentonville 3:56 Wed Nov 16 I watched the first episode of that and gave up on it. If he had stuck to, 'there were probably reasonably advanced civilisations around a bit earlier than we thought', then it would have been OK. But that wouldn't have been very controversial or exciting or easy to sell to a TV company or book publisher. So he's claiming these societies were VERY advanced, to the extent of being world-wide civilisations. So we get lots of the usual conspiracy theory arguments like, 'nobody can explain, so it must mean this', 'scientists have been unable to prove', 'archaeologists can't agree' - that sort of Chariot of the Gods stuff. He's a plausible little scamp, though."

"bell 3:00 Tue Nov 15 Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls Cheers billy. Whomail won't let me reply for some reason, but much appreciated mate. Bell hover your curser over the send you'll see what I mean when you try it. Poor old WHO it seems to be a bit knackered."

Ancient Apocolypse on Netflix about the possibility of advanced civilisations existing before previously taught. A cataclysmic event around world wiped existence of it all out except for various landmarks around the world. Compelling and fascinating and certainly makes you think it possible.

"Northern Sold 2:47 Mon Nov 14 Haven't seen the third part yet but I know re Matthaeus and Waddle. Seen Lothar on a few things and always comes across as a nice guy, along with Klinsmann, and what a player Lothar was, absolutely terrific, which shows how well Gazza played in the Semi. Like you felt for the Yugoslavs and really sad re their old manager. What a tournament Cameroon had when you consider they really were no more than parks footballers."

zico 3:05 Mon Nov 14 Yeah thought both were excellent... as you say the C4 one is a bit more `off the pitch'... especially concerning West ham... the lad with teh beard who took his camcorder to Italy a good MATE of mine was with him that trip... got his ugly mug all the way through the original feature that came out. The SKY one as you say is the viewpoint from a lot of the other countries... felt for the Yugoslav lads... almost blaming themselves not winning the WC and thus (in their words) maybe stopping the conflict that was around the corner... one thing I had never seen before was when all the krauts were celebrating the pens win over us... Lothar Matteus was teh first person over to console Chris Waddle... what an absolute A1 bloke along with being a true world class footballer.

"FIFA Uncovered is very interesting. Nothing ground breaking that we didn't already know but a very good, exhaustive account of how corrupt FIFA is and the Russia/Qatar World Cup bids were."
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Can't find the documentary thread so I'll place this here. On both Chanel 4 and Sky documentaries there are two three part Italia 90 documentaries. Never seen either before and whilst the Chanel 4 one follows a lot of the England story on and off the pitch the Sky one tells the stories of several nations. Both worth a watch.
