"The Idol. A Sam Levinson (Euphoria) led show. If you don't know his work he's doing everything to knock the shit out of the Woke and 'Me too' rhetoric that has led to the vanilla tv that we've been delivered over the past few years. Now, for people disgusted with Phil Schofield's dalliance with a younger man, this isn't for you, as you'll be watching Johnny Dep and Vanessa Paradis' 24 year old daughter spending most of her time naked or semi- naked, masturbating, and having sex with an older man. It's brave writing which has been slammed or heralded in equal measure.. Personally, and as a writer, I found it refreshing that sexuality can be expressed again, and sometimes in extreme ways."

"Funny enough I dont watch the antiques roadshow but that specific episode was on in the back ground at my parents and I caught the bit where he was showing some of his trainers. I have some fairly high value items but I buy them to wear, I cannot just leave them in a box as a collectable and hope their worth money in time. I get much more enjoyment out of wearing them. That being said my brother in law is in to trainers to and he bought a high collectable pair a few yrs ago for $500 designed by Virgil Abloh who used to be a designer for Louis Vuitton and then set up Off White. When he died the trainers he had that he'd kept in a box went up to being worth over $20k overnight, he still wouldn't sell them tho. Absolutely nuts."

"Jim79 6:16 Thu Jun 1 Not as stupid as you think, Jim. There was a bloke on the Antiques Roadshow the other week with a massive trainer collection and it was worth thousands."
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"I'll give that a go Swiss, thank you. I have a bit of an obsession with trainers and currently have a couple of hundred pairs, pretty stupid for a man in his mid 40's but I suppose there are worst things to spend your hard earned on!!!"

"Jim79 If you liked Air then catch a BBC sounds podcast called Sneakernomics. Fascinating history of trainers. The stuff on the Adiddas/ Puma war and the rise of Nike, Reebook etc"

"I liked the whale. I thought Brendan Fraser was fantastic. Agree though that people getting outraged a real morbidly obese actor not being cast is just silly. As if there are any who could carry the role off.... The Nike Air film is on my list. Really looks good. There's a great doc on BT sport about it as well. Called Sole Man, about Sonny Vacaro (Matt Damon's character)"

The Amazon film Air about how Nike secured Michael Jordan as their star athlete for their basketball division and the deal their struck which still to this day generates around $400m pa for Jordan personally making him still the annually highest paid sports star in the world 20 yrs after he retired is very good.
