"Actually Oxycontin is a pretty good drug as long as you DON'T take it as prescribed. I get 20mgs slow release which is supposed to provide 12 hours of pain relief and absolutely doesn't. My mistake that led to the severe withdrawal was after being on it for a couple of years I decided to take it as I was supposed to, just swallow it every twelve hours. The thing is that it really tightens up its tentacles if you do that and after about eight hours you start to watch the clock, craving another pill. The older I get the more I don't listen to doctors who lets face it have never taken a painkiller in their lives. They live by the BMF and LOVE you having no agency over your own body. 'yes doctor I took it and after about an hour I was ..' 'no mr Chim it doesn't work like that '. 'well who would know, me or you'? So if you DO get prescribed it (you poor bastard) crunch up the slow release pills with your teeth and take a couple of paracetamol as well. That gives good pain relief and withdrawal is pretty easy, particularly if you have other painkillers backing it up. I took 30mgs yesterday and six paracetamol, did 24000 steps on my fucked feet and although I couldn't say I feel brand new life is much more doable on the 10mgs I have taken today. Long story short, don't be afraid to take Oxycontin as it's a good painkiller, just don't listen to your doctor!"

''That Peter Crouch Film'' to give it it's official title. I didn't know he spent 8 years at Stoke.

"Chim, I'm shocked to read that Oxycontin is still being prescribed, and wish you well on that hellish medicine. Back to box sets. As a writer I know how hard it is to create a good ending, therefore, as a viewer, I detest that after investing six hours watching a series that the ending is shit. It's all about structure. Structure, structure, structure. I've just finished Wolf (iPlayer), and what could have been a great series was ruined by the piss poor exposition filled last episode. Show, don't tell, is a major rule in writing. It's a shame, as it's full of really good performances."

"As someone on 90mgs a day of Oxycontin I'd say Dopesick is far superior to Painkiller. Dopesick won 21 awards and was a labour of love for Michael Keaton, one of the most underrated actors of his generation because he lost his favourite nephew to it. As far as I can see, Painkiller wants to make the sassy black woman the hero of the piece (she's also in Dopesick) and Dopesick the tiny company of God-fearing, no swearing law firm from middle America who Purdue Pharma ruthlessly attacked to try and shut them up Watch either as it's a story that tells you what's coming next to the NHS and it needs to be told. Yesterday when Ariola saved that penalty I felt NOTHING and decided there and then to cut down on Oxycontin. I didn't take any after that and woke screaming at 4am with my entire body crippled by cramp. I grabbed 30mgs and within an hour and a half was back in control. Awful. So please watch one or the other as it's amongst us already."

Bit of trivia. The actress who plays the rep with a conscience in Painkiller is David Duchovny's daughter.

"They didn't copy Painkiller from Dopesick. It had pretty much finished filming by the time Dopesick was released. Wasn't even the same source material. Dopesick was from a book, Painkiller from an article, but it is pretty much the same story. As said though, Dopesick is miles better."

Its very similar and follows the same path showing the prosecutors and then the sales rep that gets swept up with all the money and then having a crisis of conscious and the individual who suffers an injury and then spirals in to addiction and meets their untimely demise. Very strange that they would be released within such a short period and without taking the story and looking at it from a different perspective. Suppose they just looked at it as a high interest subject so why not milk some more money out of it. Would have been good to see someone at least try to tell a story from a new angle rather than just copy/paste from Dopesick which is superior in my opinion.

having watched both Dopesick and PainKiller I think Dopesick is head and shoulders the better series. Both very good and a really hard hitting subject that I have a bit of personal experience in having struggled with prescription pain killer dependency at points. Both are excellent programmes but the documentary about the same subject and Purdue Pharma called Crime of the Century on Sky Documentaries is even better if you ask me.

If you liked people just do nothing they have done a 3 episode taster called Peacock. I think it might have been picked up for a full series.

"Northern… People just do nothing has some very funny moments and not usually my kind of thing but gave it a go and glad I did, the lead actor was also great in The Curse but totally different character but worth a watch. Hijack ended up being awful and poor acting shame as build up was good. Same actor was in Bull recently and that was excellent. Ted Lasso was superb and enjoyed every episode, has laughs, sads, emotions and some very memorable moments and West Ham all over it.. Roy Fucking Kent makes it for me."
