Can't believe it's taken this many years to get round to watching it but The Wire. The character and acting of Bubbles is brilliant. Only on series 1 !!

I’ve been watching that Torino….and agree with your comments….finding it difficult seeing Gilou (Spiral) as a Colonel though….. :-)

"onsideman 3:17 - Ha wicked, That's a good point actually, I wonder how many people end up watching something they usually wouldn't because they watch it as a couple? Considering the rest of my top viewing is either gangster/drugs etc 'This is Us' is a bit of a side step but the writing I thought is amazing, especually as it flits back and forth a lot through the timeline."

I’ve been told it’s one of the few things where the series has managed to be quite accurate to the books Bonds78….so hopefully you’ll get into it…..

Ray/Side I'll start Bosch this week. The books the character is based on are always a good read.

"Like you ray, I really like the Bosch series, very convincing cast and none of them over the top characters which is a welcome change when it happens….such good storylines as well….going to save the episodes up…as I like to watch them a few at a time…"

"Bosch: Legacy Season 2 available, two eps in, fucking great stuff."

"Snowfall is one of the best things I've seen for a while, Decent music, setting and storyline. I think it's still actually on iPlayer? Not sure if it's been mentioned but I did read back one page!! The aforementioned 'The Americans' is really good. As is the Mayans if not taken too seriously, a bit like SoA. One of the others is 'This is Us' probably a bit gay for all the geezers on here but the storyline, music and also memories it stirs up of family, growing up etc is superb. It gets a bit political but it does deal with a few issues with humour or even emotional storytelling."

"Don't get me wrong I thought The Continental was good and you're right the soundtrack is brilliant but I think I was expecting more. Wait until you finish the other two episodes, for me there were just too many plot holes and weak characters. It was still better than most stuff on the box these days but I just think it could have been considerably better given the premise is potentially brilliant as shown through the John Wick films. On another subject I thought Masters of the Air was due to start this month but having looked it up on Apple TV its now saying its due to be aired in January, maybe I imagined it being shown in October."

"Watched the 1st one of The Continental and though it was great, sound track alone is awesome"
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Just finished watching the Continental and got to say I was disappointed. Dont get me wrong all the fight scenes are very well choreographed and impressive but other than that I was massively underwhelmed. Not one decent character in it, the main protagonist, Winston Scott, is thoroughly unbelievable as a leading man, the brother Frankie was much better but (spoiler alert) wasn't around long enough. The black Kung Fu brother and sister were shit and Mel Gibson hammed it up with stupid levels of over acting. The whole thing lacked any sort of actual storyline. Just shows you how much the John Wick films live and die by the fact that such a strong front man in Keanu Reeves carries the whole franchise."

"Swiss. 1:51 Wed Oct 11 Re: The Reckoning- BBC Why do people want to watch this? It's sick and morbid to do so if you ask me. Morbid curiosity maybe, but it's hardly ""sick"" to be compelled to watch it to learn the bigger picture of a real life monster that was part of the culture for most of us growing up. Found his bringing up of Peel and Bowie interesting, made me think if all his underage girls were ""consensual"" not many would have been that interested in tearing him down post humously."

"If you cunts want something a little different, intelligent, thoughtful and out of the ordinary may I recommend a show called Station 11. It's set on multiple timelines before, during and after a pandemic that kills off 99% of the population and is basically about what it means to be human and what you would do to retain your humanity. There are no monsters, no huge gunfights,, it's not The last of us or the walking dead It's pretty amazing, but you have to watch it carefully, it's may seem very slow in the opening episodes, but stick with it as it all comes together in a brilliant way. If you want something that will stick with you after it's finished, then this is it. Trailer below. https://youtu.be/LPm52rq8CZA?si=-Qz87-Xz-D-IyZLr"

"Anyone on here looking forward to Eddie Izzard starring in the Hammer Horror remake of Dr Jeckyll, with Izzard playing both NINA Jeckyll and RACHEL Hyde? No, didn’t think so."

All three series of Cardiac Arrest from the 90s are up on iplayer at the moment. Ged Mercurio’s first project. Looks a bit dated now but it’s still absolutely brilliant.
