"Percy Dalton 7:42 Sun Nov 5 In Season 3 episode 2 of Justified - Raylan's boss, Art Mullen and Bill Nicolls ( another former Marshall and friend who was subsequently murdered ) were wallowing in nostalgia and pondering how they would have stacked up against the oldbreed. The name of Bass Reeves came up and Art said something like - "" Wait till Denzel finds out about him "" - can't remember exactly, but perhaps that sowed the seed for ""Lawmen"""

"I’m five episodes out of eight into Bodies and have decided to give up. What a steaming pile of shit. Terrible writing, crap acting, full of cliched bollocks. I can’t believe I’ve wasted 5 hours of my life with this shit."

"On Netflix I binged watched The Ripper, the 2020 docuseries about The Yorkshire Ripper. Seen a lot of the info etc before but it's well worth a watch if nothing else to see what a pigs ear the police made of it."

"Probably opening myself up to accusations of 'jacking this thread, but didn't feel the subject was worthy of it's own. For yous of a certain age, going to the cinema of the 50's & 60s and you had a short pre-main feature film called ""Look at Life""; about 20 minutes long, a small documentary about, well, life in the UK. I've just found them on YouTube/The Pirate Bay and they are a fascinating look at the ""Good old days"". If you want your nostalgia with a strong hint of stiff upper lip, take a look at a few."

"'We own this City' By the same writers who did the Wire. Based on real events, if its only 50% accurate then the Baltimore cops were out of control. Only 6 episodes but a very good watch."

Side of Ham 3:11 Tue Oct 31 Agree sometimes its difficult seeing actors key to other series that you recognise and takes time to adjust. Actors in Spiral and Braquo feature in the Dark Hearts so its a testament to the skills of the programme to dispel your disbelief!

"Ex - Sorry mate, but I'm not jealous of you, I would be if you were roaring up Jennifer Anniston, but not because you are watching The Wire :-) I watched it back when and loved it, wouldn't watch it again though, but I've never watched any series twice. I fancy either The Americans or Snowfall, but it's a lot of tv and find it a bit daunting to start on one."

"Miike - he was one of them, the scene I referring to was with Clarence Royce, played by Glynn Turman. Gillan’s character was excellent too. I’d say they were all perfect for the roles they played - just exceptional writing, directing and acting."

"Miike - so many highlights across all seasons. I did slightly prefer the series in the docks, but the others are exceptional too. Laughted out loud at Herc’s reaction to catching the Mayor in a compromising situation."

"Ex, the thing about The Wire (and it may be just me) is it gets better as each series progresses. My favourite is series 4, but the quality never drops right to the end. Bubs & Omar are my favourite characters"

I watched the whole series of the Sopranos two or three times and used to feel sort of jealous of people who were watching it for the first time. Feel like I’m in the opposite position with the Wire.
