"Swiss Toni; White Lotus and Euphoria in the same recommendation request? Im guessing you've seen a picture of Sydney Sweeney with her ample cannons out and now googled what you can watch her in!!! ha White Lotus is very good, relatively light hearted but a very good watch. Euphoria is brilliant, very cleverly shot and produced. Some of the acting and characters in it are first class to given the average age of the cast is early twenties I'd say even if they are all playing characters in their late teens."

Is White Lotus worth all the hype ? I watched the first episode and it didn’t exactly grab me by the balls. Is Euphoria any good ?
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Finally got around to watching Slow Horses. Really enjoyed the first series. Great cast and Gary Oldman is fantastic. Presumably people do have jobs that are something like that? Portrays them as real people with major flaws so all very believable (even if it isn’t).

"NS, agreed, she played a great role With regard to Charlie Cox and Ciaran Hinds ( Eamon Cunningham character ), they pair up again on Treason on Amazon Prime, not as good as Kin but worth a watch"

Yeah Boots... very watchable.... however it took me three episodes in to realise that it was a birth mark on Amanda's eye and not a shiner... she is a top actress.

Yeah looks good that Colly son... will have a bit of that. Just finished first series of Kin... very good... although the end is an absolute rip off from Godfather II

"Reacher was throw about fun, nothing more. If you can't abandon reality for an hour then don't bother, will watch the 3rd series when it's released."

"Yeah, I know what you mean, I’ve watched both series. I was waiting for the clever or humourous bits, in vain mostly."

"Kaiser - Like I say, not too be taken seriously. Some of the stuff people speak about on here I wouldn't watch if you paid me, like Clarkson on a farm for example. Others on here have said they like Reacher, each his own of course."

"happy - I'm pretty fussy with what I watch, but Reacher is good value IMO. Not to be taken seriously, but it's fast moving with a decent storyline and some good characters, with Reacher himself being likeable, for an oddball lunatic. Some of the tear up's in it are something else."

"If you like the ex services type reluctantly drawn into defending himself, or his friends or family, using his superhuman fighting skills against overwhelming odds and prevailing, then this is for you, gilmore. Mind you, so is just about every other film or series they churn out at the moment."

Is Reacher worth watching? I hear the older women in the office talking about it along with the soaps they sit and watch evert evening. I've assumed it's more banal shit

"Sexy Beast - Ended up really enjoying it, but would totally get why some might think it's a load of shit. Not being renewed apparently. Reacher 2 - Three episodes left, great entertainment."

"Yeah dont mind the Yanks Chim... 20 odd visits over there and to be honest I could count on one hand the amount of cunts I have met... vast majority when you get chatting to them courteous, generally interested in us... and occasionally get our humoured!! As I said earlier on in the thread... whether Bomber Command or US 8th they were the bravest of the brave... cannot think of anything more terrifying being in that B17 ball turret... and I imagine being a tail end charlie in a lance or Stirling wasn't much fun either... absolute and utter respect"

"I just don't have the love affair with the septics like you do and certainly know they don't like the British half as much as you think they do. In Masters Of The Air (or whatever it's called) have they mentioned the RAF and the fact that at least a B27 had an underslung gun, unlike a Lancaster which made it able to take much more ordinance (I still think that the Blockbuster is the heaviest bomb ever dropped from a plane?) but also much more dangerous, hence the fact that a tail gunner in a Lanc had the highest chance of death than ANYONE involved in the war. I was lucky enough to be pals with two of them, God bless them. Anyway, you're right it is arguing over nothing but just one simple thing about the Americans talking about World War two, they call it 'double-you, double -you, two' thinking saying it like that abbreviates it."

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Arguing for arguments sake here Chim son... yeah Spielberg could have got a RN bloke in there but it wasn't just RN bringing the Yank GI's into the it was also US Navy as well so it's not as if it's factually incorrect... but yeah Spielberg could have kept the anglophiles happy by sticking a Jolly tar on a Higgins boat. Regarding Monty and what the yanks thought of him ... that's history... plenty of war documentaries they (yanks) have said the same... he was not everyone's cup of tea... gather you seen a Bridge Too Far... don't imagine he's too far up on the Poles list... no one can take away what he did at El Alamein but he was a proper prickly cսnt... even Churchill found him hard work... Churchill said of him: ‚ÄúIndomitable in retreat, invincible in advance, insufferable in victory"" Did the quote in SPR have to be said... suppose not?? Would it have been something a GI would have thought at the time?? Probably... I certainly do not think it's put US-UK relationships back to when those cheeky Patriots tipped a load of tea into Boston harbour..."

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Northern Sold 3:46 Wed Feb 21 'there was no Brits in the area... so not sure I'd ever expect to see one or mention one in the film... even though Monty was... and to be fair what was said was what a lot of the GI's thought of him... too cautious and over rated. Only British thing they perhaps could have shown in SPR was the ONLY involvement at Omaha was the Royal Navy... we had quite a few landing craft were piloted by RN'. Oh 'just Royal Navy piloting the landing craft'? No wonder they didn't get a mention with a no risk job like that. And what the GIs (and indeed most Americans generally) said about Monty (if partly true, a cautious man who wanted to get as many shitty little underpowered tanks to El Alamein as possible to take on the German tank divisions) by hook or by crook him and his men kicked the Germans out of North Africa-our FIRST real success in nearly three years of fighting. When you watch it again (and you WILL watch it again) tell me if that comment REALLY needed saying."
