Watched Rogue last night. Another extraction-action movie with the still hot Megan Fox. Was OK and the adding the man eating lion to the usual baddies made it fun.

Watched Gemini Man with Will Smith. Enjoyable enough but what's all this anti ageing stuff all about? Looks absolutely awful. This along with god awful CGI is ruining movies.

"Just Mercy - Fantastic. Watched Phil Spector with Al Pacino and Helen Mirren from 2013, a bit meh, but at least it's a true yarn."

"I watched that Project Power, some good special effects but ultimately a bit of a popcorn no brainer. In fact I lost the plot a bit, why did they have his daughter?, did she really develop the formula?"

"Watched project power the new netflix film with jamie foxx and joseph gordon levitt, entertaining enough but the same story that's been done a hundred times before, man has to save his daughter from big corporation, just with a few random superpowers thrown in"

"Watched “Dark Waters” last night. It’s a film about DuPont dumping vast amounts of chemicals that cause cancers and other health problems including birth defects. Might sound grim and it is but it’s a real story based upon this article https://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/10/magazine/the-lawyer-who-became-duponts-worst-nightmare.html This is a striking couple of paragraphs at the end of the article. Where scientists have tested for the presence of PFOA in the world, they have found it. PFOA is in the blood or vital organs of Atlantic salmon, swordfish, striped mullet, gray seals, common cormorants, Alaskan polar bears, brown pelicans, sea turtles, sea eagles, Midwestern bald eagles, California sea lions and Laysan albatrosses on Sand Island, a wildlife refuge on Midway Atoll, in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean, about halfway between North America and Asia. ‘‘We see a situation,’’ Joe Kiger says, ‘‘that has gone from Washington Works, to statewide, to the United States, and now it’s everywhere, it’s global. We’ve taken the cap off something here. But it’s just not DuPont. Good God. There are 60,000 unregulated chemicals out there right now. We have no idea what we’re taking.’’"

"After watching the VJ stuff, I watched Midway - the recent one. 6/10 - plus points being that it’s an incredibly realistic portrayal (as confirmed by veterans), the performances of Woody Harrelson, Patrick Wilson and Dennis Quaid, plus it looks and sounds superb. Negatives being Ed Skrein in the lead role who simply cannot act at all, and some truly terrible attempts at an American accent (Skrein again, and Luke Evans)"

"Finally got round to watching Greyhound. Have seen better, also far worse. Liked the way they got straight into the action pretty much from the start. Also probably some of the best special effects I've seen, maritime effects being notoriously difficult to replicate. Am looking forward to Christopher Nolan's new film, Tenet."
