"I agree, the way some of the sound is mixed on a lot of these films/series is terrible. you often turn the volume up because the dialogue volume is so low, then the cunts will insert music that's at a 1000 decibels and you the have to turn it back down"

"Chill - Yep, sometimes I don't even want to watch a film without subs now. Half the time you can't pick up what they're fucking saying (mumbling)"

"Agree about using subs, especially given how many 'actors' mumble incoherent bollocks nowadays."

Peninsula is nothing like Train to Busan. Its like a zombie Apocalypse Now ish but with huge amounts of CGI. Looks like a video game.

"Will get around to it. Yes, but regardless of the silly subs for noises I'll be honest that when I watch anything that has an option for subs, ie Netflix, i use them, otherwise I miss bits and not being able to catch everything, and find the whole MOVIE EXPERIENCE a lot more enjoyable when I don't miss a word."

"It’s still worth a watch in my opinion, Manny. Even with the audio description. It does ruin the atmos somewhat having the patently obvious pointed out. Even if I was deaf, I think I would find that annoying."

"Duke - I loved Baggio and was planning on watching that but it put me off that it was acted out by someone trying to look like him, and not a doc as you say. if the words like 'inspiring music playing”, “exhales” and “crowd chants” annoyed you then I wonder how you get through each day.."

"I gave The Divine Ponytail a watch. The story of Roberto Baggio. I was expecting a documentary but it was acted out. It actually was quite good. The only downside was the subtitles were explaining everything, eg “inspiring music playing”, “exhales” and “crowd chants”, which was annoying."

"A few years ago on here there was a book thread and someone highly recommended The Book WORLD WAR Z. They also did an excellent anslysis of the evolution of the Zombie genre. I read World War Z as a result and it was a genuinely brilliant book. You could find a allegory in covid if you had a creative mind. Anyway, I can remember the poster but they said that in WWZ and all the original Zombie movies the Zombies moved slowly. That all changed in 28 days later I believe. It does change the dynamics of avoiding them. A good film is a good film no matter what the genre is."

"I've never liked zombie films for the simple reason I think when you commit to watching a film a film it needs to at least resemble real life in some shape or form or I fail to really see the point, just a personal thing. Fwiw, i think the best zombie film was Dusk to Dawn with Clooney."

"Sold - Sorry, but you only have exposed yourself as someone who is happy with any old shit. I turned it off after 40 mins. As I have said to you before you have this obsessive personality where you must see everything that is mainstream or you feel like you are missing out. You also have to watch 'Oscar films' as soon as is viably possible. As you say, each to ones own."

I’m going through my memory banks at all the other Zombie films I have seen to see if there has been a character I gave a fuck about…… Errr …. Nope… one thing you normally find with Zombie films is that the cast gets eaten….
