Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
I thought Willy's Wonderland was pretty shockingly bad with only one joke- that Nick Cage doesn't say a single word in the film A much better new Nick Cage film is 'Pig'. Best film I've seen for a while though is a British film called 'Surge'. The kid who plays M (or Q?) in the Bond films goes mental working at customs in Gatwick and goes on a spree of bank robberies in London. Great performance that surprised me how good an actor he is
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
Isn’t willys wonderland essentially 5 nights at Freddie’s?
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
Alfs 2:45 Sun Aug 22 I didn't know that. I wondered how he just sprung on the scene. Denzil's wife must be right ugly. He doesn't take after the old man in looks or acting ability.

"Thanks chaps for saving me on Becket as I was going to watch it! Stumbled across on Netflix ""Broken City"" and ""Mercury Rising"" both a few years old but I'd bizarrely never seen either. Both were ok if there is nothing else to watch."

"Swiss. 3:07 Fri Aug 20 Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021) Re: Becket Unfortunately I watched this load of crap the other day. Not once, was Becket mentioned as a black man in the entire film by the people who were pursuing him. Extremely poor dialogue and acting throughout. If it wasn't for the stunning Greek landscape I would have turned the film off."
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"An actor mate had a small part in Maddison County that Eastwood was starring in and directing. On the first day of the shoot, when everyone had arrived, Clint walks in, knowing everyone's eyes are on him, and walked straight to a Mexican cleaner, offered his hand, and introduced himself as Clint Eastwood, the director of the film. ""What's your name, son?"" ""Miguel, sir'. ""This is Miguel"" Eastwood announced to everyone on set. ""Thanks to Miguel we will have a clean workspace, he has as an important role as myself and everyone here. Let's give Miguel a round of applause"". Everyone did, and the tone was set. Respect everyone you work with, whatever their position. Even though my mate had one scene and four or five lines, Eastwood made a conscious effort to spend five minutes with him, shooting the breeze, as he did with everyone. During that chat, they got talking whiskey and my mate mentioned that he loved some brand or other. When the film wrapped, he received a gift from Clint, thanking him for his great work, along with a bottle of his favourite whiskey. The man is class, through and through."
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"Saw Beckett which was worse than Tenet which is saying something. I understand but necessarily agree this woke thing to have a black ""lead"" . But fuck me can't Hollywood find a better actor than John David Washington?"
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
Manuel Seen both of those. I think they did that genre better in the noughties. Today we see a lot of bad immitations. I saw the horror Separation the other day which I thought was pretty good. I like English actor Ruper Friend from his Homeland days. Superb as Quinn.Probably the best character of the whole series. Is he Oralando Bloom's uglier younger brother?

"zico - I enjoyed BTTF and Die Hard, too. Just watch the ones about the films you enjoyed, I guess"
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"SurfaceAgentX2Zero 9:40 Mon Aug 16 I certainly enjoyed The Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and Die Hard ones. Find it interesting how little bits of luck or a gamble end up making a difference. Better documentaries ourt there for sure. Cracking one on Jaws on You Tube for instance."

"I saw The Suicide Squad last night. An absolutely hilarious gore-fest. Idris Elba and John Cena very good and Margot's best effort at Harley by a mile. It sends up the whole genre by taking it entirely OTT, even going so far as to make the antagonist Starro the Conqueror - a truly silly villain who made his debut in 1960 in the first ever appearance of the Justice League."

"zico Some of them are a decent watch, but most verge on being advumentaries. Plus, a lot of the movies are crap."
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"Abnyone who likes their films there is a series on Netflix called ""The Movies That Made Us"" which is a good watch. Slightly different slant on documentaries on how some classic movies got made and it's enjoyable and quite surprising at times with it's facts and figures. A good watch."
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
The only thing I’ll ever agree with Manuel on. Eastwood is a living legend.

"Gran Torino and The Mule are great, and without watching his latest film only the trailer you can see its the same mould of character, cant think of a bad film he has made TBH, although the comedy ones look a bit cheesy and dated these days. Rigth turn Clyde!"
