NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Norman is the chap who called Beckham a mincer and threatened him with a baseball bat isn't it? He'll fit in a treat and we've needed a horrible Bastard for a while now.

"The Patriots are only paying long 1-2million this year, apparently he was offered more than double that elsewhere but wants to play for a contender"

"we spoke to long but mcloughan is being so tight on money, he probably wanted a bit more than we could offer. we still haven't traded away our first round pick yet but im expecting it as scott does like a deal norman wants apparently $16m a year but that figure is expected to come down closer to 12 :.)"

TM I cannot see Trent Baalke spending the money required to land Josh Norman. I would be delighted if the Niners did get him though given how shit our current roster is.

"Pats have made some good signings, Martellus bennet from the bears for essentially a 6th round pic is a steal, try stopping the 2 tight end set with Bennet and Gronk. They signed chris Long fromt he Rams who if he has anything left in the tank could be a great pick up, Few other depth pickups. traded away Chandler Jones as they were not going to pay him the big contract he was going to get next year. as for running backs they still have Dion Lewis and Blount but I would think they'll use one of their 2nd or 3rd round picks on a back as Blount wasn't getting it done last year."

"His blocking was the reason why Gore was so productive for so many years. If you get the best out of him, he's an absolute beast."

"Legend is big Verne and he got 55 TD's for us and there was no other tight ends with as good yards after catch as he had, including Gronk. Not sure about his attitude though, as he fell out with someone at the Niners (probably Harbaugh) and was seriously underused after that. Christ even Vance McDonald got more game time!!"

"Wouldn't make a different if we were playing the London Monarchs Mikey, we're currently complete wank and stuck with using either Kaep or Gabbert. Another barren spell in the wilderness it is unless Chip Kelly is the new messiah."

More huge new over the last couple of days!! Eagles have given up a ton of picks to move up to the number 2 overall spot int he draft - can bet your life that the first 2 picks will now be Wentz and Goff. Carolina have rescinded the franchise tag for Josh Norman meaning the best cornerback in football last year is now a free agent!

Word around the league is that the Rams like Goff more than Wentz so this could be interesting.

Tennessee have played a blinder. With a solid draft. (One of the better one's in the last few years.) They could be contenders in the next couple of years.? As for the Rams. They needed to make a statement of intent. But it's a big gamble.? And what about Carson Wentz.! Goes to bed Wednesday night thinking. (Oh well. Going to play in Cleveland. But at least the pay will be good.) To waking up to find your'e most likely going No1. And playing in LA.!

"luckily for them it will be Les Snead making the pick who seems like he actually knows what he is doing, baffles me that Fisher still has a job, only coach in history if im correct to go 5 years with the same team without a winning record and still have the job."

that cսnt fischer didn't know what to do with all the picks we gave the rams so I wouldn't have faith in him getting anything right with the number one pick

"couldn't help but laugh reading all the comments on the smith articles, bat shit crazy yanks trying to defend why they should be allowed guns. ""he could of just killed him with a knife if he didn't have a gun"" ""not from 20 yards away he couldn't"" ""he could of got himself a bow and arrow instead, getting rid of guns will change nothing!"""

"The Rams are mental to do this unless Wentz or whoever they pick turns out to be the reincarnation of Peyton Manning, and they get at least one Super bowl out of this. I suppose they need to make a splash, what with moving to LA and all that, but it's so much to give up unless it's for a once in a generation talent."

This thread reminded me. Ex-Saints player Will Smith was shot in New Orleans this week. Loved my visit there but not a place I would want to live.
