NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"That draft that saw Marino and Elway also produced Tony Eason and Jim Kelly, a phenomenal draft for QBs"

Dan Marino for me. he was always going to stand and throw from the pocket but the defence just couldn't stop him. I am biased as i lived in Miami for a year as a kid

"Alright, I'll tempt madness by adding a contribution to the GOAT debate. All the names mentioned so far were incredible - so you have to ask what marks out somebody who might be the ""greatest""? The answer is subjective, of course But for me, I think of the man you would pick to lead your team on the final drive of a game, from inside your own five yard line, when you're down by a score. Montana, Marino, Young, Favre, Unitas, Bradshaw, Rodgers, Manning, Brady - all amazing QBs. But how many times did John Elway face that very situation described above and win key games? He even did it in a Championship game, with ""The Drive"". Too good under pressure. Even better under pressure. So for me, it's Elway."

"Montana had the all round (and a 216 TD boy in Rice, woo hoo), my broncos pal calls it as Elway, but my main call for Rodgers is when hurried etc. His accuracy on the run, under pressure or when using a lower action is outrageous. And come on the Brown's, first pick here we come ;o)"

"I'm not going to add to the ""best ever"" debate (that way, madness lies) but for pure entertainment - Randall Cunningham. Mesmerizing. Not the best, by any stretch, but absolute box office viewing..."

"TM - nothing against Romo: I think he's generally been under-rated by many. But the Jets need to find a long-term starter at QB. We've toyed with the likes of veteran Favre(s) and Fitz(s) for too many seasons now. Admittedly, we had a holiday from that when we overspent massively to trade up and take Sanchez the butt-fumbler."

"TM - nope! Maybe a season or two ago - but although the Jets are in a terrible state, they need to find a longer-term solution at QB. Besides, we've just had an overpaid veteran taking up a huge chunk of the salary cap this year - and need to pay Enunwa and some others a little more next season to keep them happy. Fitz is likely to retire at the end of this season, and I think that they will let Geno go, too. It'll leave Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg to battle it out for the 2017 starter's job. My biggest worry is that they don't have the talent on the offensive coaching (particularly QB coaching) side of the franchise, to identify which (if any) of the two promising youngsters might actually be an NFL starter. Personally, I like the look of Hackenberg - but his final year at college was underwhelming (although that probably had something to do with Penn State's awful o-line)."

"This performance by Rodgers has been absolutely brilliant. Even the catches not made have been perfect and receiver error on drops. I mean I loved Montana and Young, but this man is up there as maybe the greatest thrower I've seen when on the run or under pressure."

"I kinda' get the feeling that the Jets know exactly who they want in the first round of the draft. and have realised that they may need to finish 4-12 to get him! Seriously, they haven't even bothered turning up today - it's embarrassing. I like Bowles, but he could well be on his way out after this season - and I don't mean his dodgy ticker..."

"YES! TAKE THAT, YOU FCKING PATSIES. Jets 3, New England 41! That's the greatest field goal ever scored, right there. Fitzpatrick has taken until ten minutes from the end of the game to break the 100-yard passing barrier. He's been picked off almost as many times as he's completed a pass. This is joke now."
