NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Cam Newton only puts his body on the line when it makes Cam Newton look good. You only need to see the video of him bottling out of fighting for a loose football in the super bowl a few years ago to see what he's really made of.

"""4 times over 3000 yards compared Newton's 1 (he threw for over 5000 his last 2 years in Edmonton, not that that counts) His biggest year was bigger than Cams. 4,690 - 4,051. 6 times over 20 TDs compared to Newton's 4.""ù Newton has played for 6 years to Moon's 16, so even on those selective stats Cam is ahead. Cam has already scored more TDs in a season, 35 to Moon's 33, but he also rushed for 10 TDs in the same year. Not only that, but he rushed for over 700 in his biggest passing year so that 4051 becomes 4759."

"crystal falace 1:34 Mon Dec 18 Re: 2016 NFL Season I'd certainly go with Vick. Gutted RG3 never fulfilled his promise. The Heisman trophy winner last year looks the bollocks though (i forget his name) Re your point about the disallowed TD last night, surely the fact the ball had already crossed the TD line under control means that anything that happened thereafter is irrelevant."

"Hermit Road 8:29 Mon Dec 18 Cam Newton will be a Hall of Famer if he can keep on this pace but to say he has blown up Warren Moon stats ? 4 times over 3000 yards compared Newton's 1 (he threw for over 5000 his last 2 years in Edmonton, not that that counts) His biggest year was bigger than Cams. 4,690 - 4,051. 6 times over 20 TDs compared to Newton's 4. (And Newton has actually been healthier than Moon on a year to year basis. Look at games played.) Newton can certainly be better but not sure he has surpassed let alone blown up some of those Hall of Famers yet."

"In 6 seasons Newton has blown up the stats of those others mentioned except games played. It's always tempting to look back with rose-tinted glasses and downgrade current stars but Newton has been a force of nature during his short time in the NFL. And I don't even like him. It's true though that the way he puts his body on the line, he may not come near the longevity of the others, but he's already done things that they didn't. Either way, for Diddy to talk about replacing him with Kaepernick is ridiculous."

"the coming of gary 6:26 Mon Dec 18 Got to see him get his pro start in our version of football, to which he was very well suited as it has fewer downs and is therefore almost all passing. Won five Grey Cups in a row with him first as backup and then as starter for final two. Shame to hear about the allegations."

"I hope Diddy does buy them. If his plan revolves around doing things like signing Kaepernick as opposed to doing what will actually enable them to win anything, then good. They'll be one less team to worry about each season. I'd be delighted by this news if I supported another NFCS team."

"I think watching the Raider game today i can 100% say that i have seen a ref cheat for the 1st time. You can clearly see a gap between the ball and the chain on the 4th and 1, and if you can get a piece of paper between the tip of the ball and the chain then there is a gap no matter how small it is, just complete bullshit and cheating and it cost us the game, the NFL should be ashamed."

"Can't lie, every time I see Newton play he definitely doesn't pop into my head as an amazing QB, let alone the greatest black one ever. Clearly not been a load of them, but even so. Very good at escaping danger and getting his legs working, I'll give him that."

"Apparently he wants Kaepernick to be the starting QB next year. Just to clarify then, he wants to replace the greatest black QB ever with a mixed race journeyman in the interests of empowerment. Way to go son. Bet Cam is over the moon."

"Sean 'Diddy' Combs has expressed an interest in buying NFL team Carolina Panthers and makes a point he wants to be the first African-American majority owner in the NFL, and said it would be his aim to get Kaepernick on board immediately. It's a little ironic they're already called the Panthers."

"Thanks for Garappolo, the bloke is the bollocks, albeit he hasn't had much to rate him against for a few years at the Niners now. Pats may regret letting him go considering how well he's doing with us pretty much only having one top draw receiver in Goodwin. Goodwin is so happy to have Jimmy on board instead of the other clowns, that he was literally dancing between plays in the huddle after catching 20 of the 27 balls he'd had thrown to him since Jimmy came in. Fuck me it's nice actually not having to watch complete gash every single week :o)"

"When will teams learn to not throw a slant on the goal line vs the patriots. The disallowed touchdown is just bad, it was the correct decision based on the rules but its a bad rule, anyone could see he caugbt the ball but by the wording of the rules ""you have to survive the ground""ù and one hand came off the ball and it touched the ground Gronk was just ridiculous in the second half, that last drive they went to him basically every play and he could not be covered, that catch off his toes was insane."
