NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Been taking a good look at the Jets' only other 'high round' pick on offense this year - Chris Herndon, tight end from Miami Uni. I like the look of this kid. He's got good hands and is agile for a TE. He runs tight routes, and has a good habit of quickly getting open before the 10 yard line. Doesn't have break-away pace, but then few TEs have that. Doesn't add much to the blocking game, either. But he looks like he has the potential to turn into a good short-field and medium-field receiving target for Darnold. It's a decent bit of thinking from Bowles and his new O/C: We have a couple of decent WRs who are quick (Anderson etc), so the coaching team are not trying to stretch the field at TE: they've opted for a safe and consistent catcher, with Darnold's check-downs in mind. The issue will be the Jets' O-line. It's still quite weak. The team still has so many weaknesses that nobody will be expecting huge things from Darnold next term. But if they can focus on the trench war in the next draft, they might start to really push on in 2020."

Takashi Miike 11:16 Sat Apr 28 Yep. The Birds have had a blinder with Goedert and also Maddox. Nipping in front of Dallas in Dallas to sign Dallas was the highlight though.

"hermit, that TE you signed is a very good player. I think we need a TE with Reed's injury record. Not sure who we'll target in round four, Jaylen Samuels would be a great pick as he can play in a few different positions but i think our lot will probably go for a CB"

"Never seen any college football, only what ive read, does anyone know anything about the guys the pats drafted? The O-lineman was clearly a need after losing Solder, and the running back Michel may well have been the best player left on the bord, Been seeing them given really high grades for their draft, i just dont like oicking up a running back in the first round, i mean we already have a solid stable of backs, and realistically assuming brady is back and still not showing decline, how much better is the offence really going to be with an additional back There are far bigger holes on the defence that need filling! Hopefully they will use their couple of sexond rounders on defence, particularly the high 2nd rounder they have from the trade with the niners"

"TM - yep, I'm over it. Mayfield looked a good fit for NYJ, but Darnold is our man and he already looks better than anyone we've had at QB for more than a decade (and ageing Favre aside). Big potential to work with. Barkley was THE outstanding player in the draft. People are right to question the value of RBs in the modern era - purely due to their longevity issues. But this kid is unreal and he has the ability to chew up yardage for the Giants. His combination of power and agility is going to amaze people. If Eli gets anywhere near back to vintage next season, then they are going to trouble Dallas (never a bad thing!). But if you're a Skins or even Philly fan, then trouble is coming. Some great work by other teams further down the 1st round. Baltimore trading up to take Jackson at 32 was shrewd. No pressure, because it wasn't a high-pick - so if it doesn't work out, no big deal. Chubb teaming up with Miller is going to be hard for Denver's opponents' QBs. Ward was the best CB in the draft and gives Cleveland some ability to combat the Steelers' and Bengals' WRs. Which they desperately need if they're going to compete in that division. Vea and Payne are really solid picks for TB and the Skins. Two class acts on the defensive line. Moore is a good target for Newton. Ridley the same for Ryan. Two proper picks where the team has matched WRs with QB models."
