NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Yeah it was definitely one of the more entertaining games I've seen for a while, although I would like to see teams at least play a little bit of defence. Pats did have a few penalties called on them just none enforced as I remember one on Edelman was offset against a chiefs penalty and another one or 2 were declined by the chiefs. Think it will come down to home field advantage if they see echother again in January Pats are only one game behind now with the tiebreaker so should be interesting. I also think that barring injuries the Patriots offense will only get better as Edelman, Michel, and Gordon work their way in and acclimatise more, not sure how much better the Chiefs offense could ever get, if anything could see them slowing down as teams start getting more tape on Mahomes and maybe start figuring him out."

"The game against the Pats was entertaining and, despite us losing, I'm still feeling very positive. Our offence wasn't clicking at all first half, our defence was even worse than usual and we weren't awarded any penalties - despite this we only lost by 3. Just bought tickets to see us steamroller the Raiders at the Coliseum in December. Should be an interesting one."

Hawks looked sharp at Wembley. Not that the Raiders really turned up. Surprised at how many thousands of 12s made the trip.

"we were leading 17-0 cough. i've lost count the amount of games we've thrown away second half, it says a lot when you're relying on a trio of players in their mid 30s to get over the line. that's how much that clown snyder has mismanaged the franchise. peterson's been great though, probably be 0-5 if we hadn't signed him"

"My only concern about Barkley at the Giants is the dire need to get him some protection. He's carrying the ball so well, and Manning is throwing so badly, behind a poor O-line, that he's going to get a lot of work - and with that will come a lot of big hits on him because of his strength and style. He;s already the go-to guy on the ground and in the air (OBJ excepted: although he's in poor form). He's also so good at breaking the first tackle, that he's often still upright and dragging a defender with him into the second or third tackles. That makes him a slowing-but-standing target, and easier to put big hits on - even if those hits come at the end of long runs. He got licked a couple of times against the Eagles, because he was literally dragging Jenkins along the floor with him. He can't take those hits every week for six seasons or more in the NFL. That O-line and those receivers need to work harder to help him at the end of runs."

"Yeah, agree on both Sanders and Brown: both extraordinary, even amongst the big name running backs in history. If you could design a running back, you'd design something damn close to Barry Sanders, in my view. This kid Barkley has a long way to go of course - he's literally played a handful of NFL games. But I haven't seen that sort of raw talent since Sanders. Giants desperately need the top-class QB to replace a declining Manning next draft. But the way they're going, they'll be near the top of the board anyway."

Barry Sanders is without doubt the greatest RB of the modern era. Jim Brown was before most of us were born. Both Todd Gurley and Saquon Barkley are both very special. Just not that special yet. As for the Giants. Seems the front office had given Eli this season to see if there's anything left in the tank.(There ain't.!) So it seems to be. Get a high draft pick next spring. And hopefully no one gets too beat up before new year. Go G Men.

"Told ya all about Saquon well ahead of the draft. Best young running back to enter the NFL since Sanders. He's unbelievable, but those Giants need to get him some protection. He chewed up 230 of the Giants' 400 yards against the Eagles, but his side got walloped. He took some big hits, too. Usually after some big gains. This guy seems to have a lot of everything. There was one 9-yard rush where he leapt over two defensive players (at different times) in the crowded centre of the field, once while going sideways. The guy is almost unstoppable at the moment - but you worry about his longevity behind that line. They don't do much to help him or keep him healthy. What pisses me off the most, is that Saquon is a huge Jets fan and wanted to join Gang Green. But we drafted behind the Giants and desperately needed a QB. Which we got - a decent one, too."

"PP had Jeffrey and Barkley to both get a TD at 5/1 last night. Obviously I didn't do it. Even though the Rams are harmless and not filth like the Seahawks, Burnsy knows I don't like dishing out too many compliments to them still because of him and Gurley really is on a different planet to any other running backs currently out there. cսnt!"
