NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"As long as Philadelphia don't suddenly become the great team they were last year you should definitely have enough to win that division. You have a very favourable schedule left to play too, only the Texans on your list of remaining games who are playing remotely well at the moment"

"was very happy getting Dix for a 4th round pick. that made us even stronger in defence, just need Smith to get comfortable and we should make the playoffs :.)"

Sounds like Haley was some what of a malcontent under Hue so the owner may have wanted to just get him away from the team. Surely there had to be a better choice than the dinosaur that is Gregg Williams though.

"Yes, I think you're right. It's odd unless the owners have got their eye on a specific HC (who will want his own team of co-ordinators). I think Haley was the better option for them - at least until the end of this season - to keep Mayfield focused. Now it'll be a shitstorm this season and the kid will have to fend for himself (which he's capable of - unlike some of his predecessors). This is a franchise that just can't get much right and learns little. They obsessively tinker with things, and commit to few long-term plans: a recipe for a disaster which keeps repeating on them."

"i agree, if Jackson had to go (i don't believe he did, yet), Haley should have got the nod. i can only assume the GM has approached someone who will be available in the close season, just a strange way of doing business but maybe they fancy the no1 pick again"

"Mystified by the Browns' decision to part company with Haley (OC) as well as Jackson (HC). It's risky - they have a potentially very fine new QB in Baker Mayfield, who has just spent his key rookie offseason learning Haley's playbook under Jackson. He'll now get a second OC and HC in just a few months. The coaching carousel at Cleveland needs to slow down or they'll ruin their most important player. The team will now have an interim (Williams), and then possibly a third head coach within a few months. They need to get both permanent appointments right this time, or the coaching instability that has plagued many of their QBs (Couch, Anderson, Kizer etc) could undermine Mayfield, too. Just one of the Browns' starting QBs since the franchise was re-formed in 1998 - Hoyer - has had an overall winning record. They've had around 30 starting QBs in that period. That place is fecked - and they say the Jets is the graveyard of QBs. Haley, btw, is a decent OC. He's an excellent receivers coach - somebody is going to pick up a decent co-ordinator or an expensive and excellent receivers specialist."

Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban - $6,939,395. Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer - $6,003,000. Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops - $5,550,000."

"Surely they have to bring in someone else ASAP You've just drafted your franchise guy, you need to get an offensive mind in place to helo groom and develop him not an old defensive dinosaur. Id be going all out to get Josh McDaniels if i was the browns, not sure he'd go there though if he already turned down indy last year"

"Gregg ""Bountygate"" Williams as a head coach. Interesting. That said his takeaway defence is what made the Super Bowl happen in '10. Speaking of which, the defence is not there yet this year but they are young and got some revenge last night for the massive mistake that put them out of the playoffs. Maybe, just maybe, one more for Brees."

Al Saunders will be the interim HC. Cheifs play the Browns this week - should hopefully be a pretty straightforward win.

Rumours that Haley has also been fired. The Browns really are a dumpster fire.

"Browns actually fo have a fair amount of talent on their current roster and have alot of draft pics and cap space moving forward so will be an attractive job for someone, only way id up right?! Seems that they have wasted this season thiugh simply because they didnt want jackson to have 0-16 be his last thing as a had coach, seems like a very nice guy who everyone likes but is just far better suited to being a coordinator"

"Smith is a magnificent game manager, but obviously does lack the magic factor of some other QB's. Harsh for Beathard as our injuries have demolished our offensive line, but yeah he's fairly pony. Why he's only a back up and a Bastard with Jimmy out all year."
