NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

It is no fun trying to throw and catch when it is actually freezing outside. Not that I was every any good when in perfect weather.

"as if anything couldn't get worse in washington, snyder decides to not take any notice of the fans and not only keeps Bruce Allen as GM, but now gives him even more responsibility. so he's now in charge of fucking up the business side of things, as well as the football decisions"

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"The one thing the Jets need to do now they've appointed Gase is review the defensive coaches. Bowles was a solid guy on defense. But with Gase playing his 'dink and dunk' football on offense - tip-toeing the ball forward, as he did at Miami - the Jets are going to have to need a nasty, hardened win-the-ball-back-quick defense. Adams is a natural leader at safety, but they will need to improve the linebacker/pass rush corps."

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"TM - interesting, that link. Your man points out that Peyton Manning is continuing to endorse Gase. He worked closely with Manning in Denver, and I wonder if that played a part in the Jets' decision. They were looking for a guy with an offensive mind who could coach up Darnold. But the problem is that Manning was already fully developed when he joined Denver. He was top-class and established. Gase now has to work with a raw-but-highly-talented kid in Darnold. I like the fact that the Jets have opted for an offensive, QB-oriented head coach. Gase ticks that box. But I just think McCarthy was the better option."

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"Crystal, Yep, Chris Herndon. I'm so pissed off about the DUI arrest. He played really well for the whole of this season, and looks like a really solid target for Darnold. He was a surprise pick in the draft, but he's worked out on the pitch. Just our luck! TM - cheers, I'll take a peek at that now..."

Re: 2016 NFL Season
"Isaac, Yep, I think you've summed it up perfectly - that's very much the impression I get from others I know who follow the Fins. Gase just never seemed to move you on, despite looking like he should: for years! Naturally, I hope he somehow finds a way to do it in New York, but I'm not holding my breath. McCarthy should have got the job, no doubt about it in my mind. TM - Snyder is toxic. His name also makes him sound like a pantomime villain. But somebody's got to get a grip in Washington, because the Eagles will have Wentz for years (they will have to release Foles after this season for $ reasons), the Cowgirls are looking solid, and the Giants have the best running back in the entire league. Barkley is a one-man wrecking machine. If the Giants find a decent QB to replace Eli's ageing knees, then that''s three strong sides in the NFC East. It'll start to look a lot like the 1980s again."
