NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"When was that 1946 or something? Maybe not but then is it unusual for franchises to move in American sports? It's quite alien to me, and us over here, but it happens."

"A lot of jealousy towards the Rams here, sad to see. We've been perennially shit for years. Don't forget they were 4-12 two years ago, the turnaround has been immense. The Rams should never have left LA in the first place, but the then owner Georgia Frontiere moved them. She is hated in LA by the fans, of which there are a few regardless of what you might think."

"Chiefs lost that on a coin toss. Super bowl will probably all come down to the Rams DL and if they can win their individual battles. Scarnecchia is a great coach/schemer though. Almost always a rock solid OL that does exactly what's required. Gives a tonne of time to throw the ball, or opens up lanes for the running game."

"All that said about the Rams, I have a friend that has been supporting them since before we worked together in the early 2000s. (Not sure if he jumped aboard during the Greatest Show on Turf but he has stuck with them.) But we take what we can get in Canada, NFL-wise. Look at me, I went on a trip with a school jazz band."

"They are, unfortunately, an almost perfect coach-QB combo. It's like the live in each other's heads. It makes me sick! ;-)"

"not a fan of Brady either but I'm not sure there's been many players with his clutch ability ever, possibly Elway. watching on that winning drive, it was inevitable that he'd get them over the line :.)"

"Good point, Grump. The turnout for them in LA has been unexpectedly poor, hasn't it? Even in an America used to franchises uprooting, I think people are sceptical of firmly committing to the Rams because they've now played in three different cities on four different occasions. Hence, the flimsy Hollywood types are currently jumping on the bandwagon. By the time they've bought a season ticket, the team will be playing another 1,200 miles away!# It's a shame, because they are an excellent side with a superb young coach. But I just can't bring myself to be interested in them - it's a side that has absolutely no loyalty to its fans, or pride in its roots. Even as a Jets fan, I can see that the Patsies are very much the team of their region/city - and always will be. Like them or lump them (and for me it's the latter) Boston is fiercely proud of them."

"Pats = Chelsea? no, I think comparing them to Forest under Clough or the Mancs under Ferguson would be a better comparison. I can't stand Belichik but the bloke's a genius and gets the best out of players others have discarded or overlooked"

"Not sure you can currently call them an any team with a fan base team, as no cսnt goes to watch them! Was weird seeing the play off game, as Dallas had 60% of the crowd. As it's 1400 miles away, guessing a lot of them moved to California, as I don't think yanks are known for travelling the country to follow their teams because of the huge distances involved. We think it's bad enough driving 300 miles :o)"

"Always a bit tough to go for the team that knocked yours out and them now attracting Hollywood hangers-on does not help (the Lakers, in another sport) but for football reasons, I would like to Rams to win it. Exciting better team, interesting young coach, the franchise haven't won it for a fair while. Won't force my myself to stay up and watch but that is who I will be going for."

"Two excellent Championship games - but, for me, a really unappetising set of teams in the Super Bowl. The Patsies are, well, the Patsies. And I've always had a rational dislike of the Travelling Circus Rams For Hire (Any City With A Fan Base Welcome To Apply). Both excellent teams, well coached. But, for me, the Super Bowl is now Chelsea v MK Dons. I wanted Saints-Chiefs."
