"Yeah, the skins seem to be in meltdown, too. I watched a bit of the Chicago game - they looked down and out long before the end. Is Haskins going to make a difference? If I'm honest, I haven't seen much of him despite an excellent college career. At least the Jets have Darnold, for a short period (can see him going elsewhere in order to realise his huge potential), to save the odd game here and there when he gets fit again. Big risk that Gase, or replacing Gase with a third head coach quickly (which we WILL need to do) could now ruin Darnold's development. The Jets are fucking mental. Mike McCarthy, a superbowl winning coach in Green Bay who took that team to eight play-offs in 12 seasons, only wanted to coach one team afterwards: the Jets. His agent teed up the whole deal, and the fans wanted him. And the owners opted for Adam Gase, a bog-eyed failed Fins coach, instead."

His offences have scored a total of 11 points in the past 10 quarters of play. He called a run play on 3rd and 15 against the Patsies - and lost seven yards and punted! Fucking joke coach. Appointed on his alleged offensive innovations - absolutely no evidence throughout his career that he has ever innovated. Basically, he had Peyton Manning in Denver, so his entire reputation was built on ""coaching"" a man who didn't need to be coached. His playbook at Mile High probably read: ""Snap to Peyton...let Peyton decide where ball goes..."" This joker managed to convince the Fins and Jets to part with millions of dollars for his ""services"". Hope he's out by November. This season is a busted flush already."

"I see Gase is indeed already getting it in the neck from New York's media and fan base. It's an interesting one. He's only three games into his stint at the Jets, and they have been plagued with injuries, but there is still an over-riding feeling that the head coach is way out of his depth and responsible for awful play-calling. It was visible against the excellent Patsies. Commentators on the game were openly second-guessing Gase's play-calls from the sidelines: he had nothing to offer. Gase is a co-ordinator, at best. After the Patriots game, he admitted that some of his offensive players didn't know what was going on during certain plays. That's entirely on him. His tenure is already beginning to feel like that of Glen Roeder's time at West Ham: got the job, to everybody's surprise, when there were bigger and better candidates out there, not really qualified for the role, given some breathing space because there is talent on the roster and - like Roeder - already beginning to massively underperform despite that talent on the roster. I hope I'm wrong, as I want any Jets side to do well. But can't help but feel Gase will be a short-lived phenomenon in New York. Thankfully, we have a potential replacement head coach on the coaching staff already, in Gregg Williams. You never know with this Jets ownership - they are not exactly quick to rid themselves of poor coaches. But might be worth some smart money on a short stint for Gase. Already alienated fans and media after three games - its already a long way back for him in Gotham. His only potential saving grace is a relatively quick return from Darnold, who has the outright talent to make them competitive: but that would feel like papering over the cracks. They need a proper head coach."

"If they're limiting Brees then it may allow Brady to catch/overtake him as the one thing thats been a bit stagnant this season has been the Ptriots' running game, leaving Brady to chuck it all over the place still. The thing that annoys me with all these ""all time"" records is that they dont include the post season, when the games matter most and against the toughest competition but they're not included in ""all time"" stats"

"Just think his arm might be going, maybe the injury layoff might do him some good and he wont fatigue like he did last season, but for the last 6 games of last season including the playoffs he was not the same player as he was at the start and hasnt looked at his best this season until he got hurt. With the way Brady has kept going people seem to think its normal for Brees, Rivers etc to keep going until 40 but it isnt, Brady is a freak who has dedicated almost everything to football including a crazy diet and workout regiment, Look at the way Peyton fell off a cliff, that used to be the norm for QBs"

I have been more worried about Brees than some on the Saints forum I frequent but he should be around for a while longer. Can't see the injury being something that will be aggravated by age.

It's crazy to think the Dolphins turned their noses up to Brees twice. If Mahomes carries on the way he's started he beats both their records.

"Think the passing records could come down to who plays longer out of Brady and Brees, both should overtake manning for touchdowns this season (if Brees comes back soonish) and i think brady is about 1 year's worth of passing yards behind Brees for the record. Brees looks close to being done than Brady at this point even without the injury he seems to have lost a fair amount of arm strength from about midway through last season."

Big test will be if they can contain Josh Allen in the pocket and force him to beat them with his arm which is erratic at best."
