NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I liked NE back in the day when they had Grogan as QB and Tippet and Lippet in defense with Raymond Berry as coach, not so much now though but they are a great team, dynasty even"

"TM/Irons, Spot on. Whisper it, but they are even respected for that among their fierce AFC East rivals. Don't get me wrong, if their stadium fell down on them all tomorrow I wouldn't bat an eyelid. But, you know, there is begrudging respect there! ;-)"

"Brady deserves as much credit for that, he's sacrificed about $50-60m in salary over the last few years to help them stay competitive. you can count on one hand, players that have done that in this era"

"Have to respect the Patriots, I would like to see them lose but don't hate them, say I like I did the Bulls when I was into basketball as a teenager or the Calgary Flames as a kid. I think maybe it is because I grew up but then I think about Spurs and Millwall and ... Back on topic, anybody that can do salary cap black magic to the point of coming even close to maintaining dynasty in this era, deserves some credit."

"Bill is a humungous cսnt. Even though we need receivers ourselves, always feel that it's one of the positions that never works joining mid way through a season, as they need all of the pre-season months to learn the entire play books. Feels like Jimmy Graham is only just finally working our for the Packers and he's had the best thrower in the game lobbing him the ball."

"Oh, you'll be contenders this season. Especially with that defence and depth chart."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Grump - I wouldn't be so sure. The Jets and Fins are an utter joke, again (much as it pains me to say). The Bills are OK at the moment, but have traditionally been woeful. But you are talking about the division with the best side in the entire NFL for the past 18 years. Nobody has come close to them over that period for sustained performance. I'd defy any franchise to have tried to compete with the best head coach in the history of football. It isn't a case of those six games being gifts to the Patsies - it's more a case of how many games can the opposition take from them in the division. And it would be the same for almost any franchise if they were part of the AFC East. It's why they've won six super bowls and appeared in another three. They've won 31 play-off games under Belichick, was is miles ahead of any other head coach. You could put the Niners in the AFC East this year, and I guarantee they would finish second in the division. They might beat the Brady Bunch in a one-off game, but they sure as hell wouldn't finish above them in the league."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"That division is truly awful at the moment though. Must be fucking lovely playing that lot 6 times a season knowing that before it even starts you already have guaranteed 6 wins in the bag!!! Bills are pretty crap too, but have a lovely 5-1 record after also playing the same gash :o)"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"TM - agree 100%. I think Williams would be a decent head coach for us - providing he can bring in a proper offensive mind at OC. The players will take to him in the top role, I'm sure about that. The irony is that, while our roster is still painfully thin, we do actually have some absolute blue-chip players: Darnold (despite his poor and confused game last night), Bell, Adams, May and the two Williams'. There is a base there around which Gregg Williams could build something. Gase is a proper, nailed on embarrassment of a coach. An utter fraud."

"he's clueless and the sooner you get rid, the better. I never saw last night's game but did watch the cowboys game, and even during that he almost threw it away. get rid and let greg run the show for the rest of the year"

"Lab - keep the faith, mate. One day, it will all happen. And then all West Ham-Jets fans are going to have a party so fucking intense that Satan himself, and his hounds of hell, will be queuing up to get in."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Sheesh! We got an absolute shellacking, again, last night. If Adam Gase was deliberately trying to lose his job as quickly as possible so that he could take a multi-million pay-off and never have to work again in his life - then it would look a lot like this New York Jets season. He is utterly clueless beyond all comprehension. Probably the most over-promoted and over-rated football coach of the 21st Century. Glen Roeder would look like a tactical and motivational genius by comparison. The Buffalo Bills have now won more games at the MetLife Stadium this year than both the Jets and Giants. So it's all going well. On another note, the Patsies' form is ominous. But you do wonder whether they are going to peak too soon. Haven't seen a side start the season so well since, well, the last time they did it under Brady and Belichick. You just gotta hope that there is a (former) Giants-style bogey team waiting for them in the play-offs."
