NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
That Jackson run today was ridiculous. For anyone it would have been a special run but for a QB. I can't see a defence stopping him again this year.

"And the Jets won their second game of the season, against the blue noses from across the way. Get in! I hate Gase, and want him the hell out of the job, but I would not have been able to cope if we'd lost to the Giants after getting a pasting from the Fish last week. Darnold had a good game - seems to be settling down now that his spleen isn't the size of a buffalo."

"Never really been into GRIDIRON apart from the LONDON MONARCHS but just walking back from Titans v Chiefs, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Septics put on a great show and couldn't have asked for a better game"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I drafted him a round or 2 higher than he was projected this year because I knew he'd be a fantastic fantasy QB this season because of all his rushing but he is turning into a legit game winner in real football. he didnt make many challenging throws in the Pats game except for one on a big 3rd down conversion but with the amount of focus him and Ingram take up from the defence his receivers seem to get a lot of space in the middle of the field which is why all 3 tightends are doing well this year. Speaking of fantasy I still have Dak prescott sat on my bench if anyone wants to offer me a good running back option for him, think the trade deadline in fantasy is coming up soon."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Can't really complain much last night, although i thought there were a few very suspect calls by the refs. Could tell the Ravens had just come off their bye week and had a good game plan in place after 2 weeks of planning. Just not sure you can fully appreciate how fast Jackson is until you face him live and i'd expect them to do a much better job if they meet again in the playoffs. That being said i did think the Pat were looking good in the 2nd and 3rd quarter and were moving the ball well potentially driving to take the lead when Edelman fumbled trying to gain extra yards which was returned for a touchdown, think that was the decisive play in the Game."

"TM - yeah, agree with that. We've got a guy who is effectively both a politician (a politically-appointed diplomat, at least) and a football owner. It's not going well at the moment!"

"I wouldn't say singletary was a bad coach, you just need to look at the work he did for patrick willis and the other defenders he worked with at the niners, and how they improved. like many of these franchises, if the leadership above the head coach isn't right it's impossible to succeed and we have one of the worst at that in bruce allen. the cսnt should be a politician, not in football"

"From the highlights, nice to see my old friend Ingram doing some of the business against New England. Look beatable with decent quarterback pressure one side and a commitment to the run on the other."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Cough, Decent shout - but Singletary only had one losing season as a head coach. He turned around their 2008 season mid-way through it, when he won more games than he lost. The following season, he went to 5-1 before the wheels came off - but still recorded their first non-losing season since 2002. It was only his last season in charge when he failed - and even then he won five games. Nope - not even close to Rich Kotite for outright failure. And, compared to Adam Gase, a superhuman coaching genius! ;-)"

"southbankbornnbred, Singletary? Loved him as a player though, one of the greatest LBs of all time, maybe coaching is not for him?"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"And Cousins is a decent QB. He's just not elite level. But, then, so few are. The problem with the last 20 years, is that everybody is measuring QBs according to the capacities of Brady, Manning, Rodgers and Brees. Now Mahomes has turned up, throwing TDs like every day is practice, and it has ratcheted up every assessment again. Cousins is a decent QB. There are other decent QBs in this league right now, too. And their teams are capable of winning championships if the HC can build the right sides around them. Next couple of years will be interesting. Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Rivers and Roethlisberger will all retire - leaving huge gaps in their franchises. Until then, it'll be a throw-off."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Serious question - can somebody name a worse head coach in the modern history of the NFL than Adam Gase? All suggestions welcome and considered.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Thought the Ravens were excellent against the Patsies. They played exactly how you should play when you've got a dual threat QB: Jackson didn't run the ball too often - just enough to constantly keep Belichick on his toes. By the end, even BB couldn't second guess what the Ravens were doing offensively. Mind you, that will just make him angry, so expect a shut-out if they happen upon each other in the play-offs! It was a really good game. The Patsies do look weak at TE without Gronk. Brady has lost his best check-down and, aged 41, even he was beginning to look human last night. Don't write them off yet, though. As a fan of an AFC East team, we've learned never to do that just yet. As for the Jets - now the worst team in the entire NFL. Forget those Bengals, they've played much better than we have on several occasions this season. The Jets at the moment are as bad as NFL teams get. Absolute disgrace of a franchise right now. Bit like West Ham - the only thing keeping them going is their huge fan base."
