NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Still an awful lot of holes on the dolphins dont get carried away just yet! Still going to lack a pass rush and they were by a huge margin the worst Oline in the league last year, added a few nice pieces on defence though and Flores seems like a really good coach who runs a very similar scheme to the Patriots. Oh and still the small matter of a QB needed, probably going to trade a number of picks to move up and draft Tua who is full of potential but just coming off an injury that people thought might end his career, good luck chucking him in behind that Oline."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"The buckner trade is a goood one for the niners, they were only going to keep one of him and Armstead and to get the 13th overall pick in the draft is massive. The Hopkins trade is absolutely absurd taking a running back who the Cardinals may well have cut after tagging Drake and a 2nd round pick for arguably the best receiver in football is ridiculous especially when you see what the Bills gave up for an inferior receiver, thats why you shouldnt have your coach and GM be the same person unless they're really truly great. but the cardinals are going to be very exciting next season, that NFC west race is going to be alot of fun could see any of them winning it or any of them coming last. Speaking of that receiver, the Bills gave up a 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th round pick for Steffon Diggs, they're going all in with Josh Allen which may or may not work but they have a very good receiving core around him now. In other news the Browns secured the best tight end and best Offensive lineman on the market, they now have Beckham, Landry, Chubb, Hooper, Njoku with an improved line so no excuses now for Baker Mayfield. The coboys made Amari cooper the highest paid receiver in history, they now have almost a 3rd of their cap tied up into Dak, Cooper and Zeke so see what sort of team they can actually build around that, but Jerry Jones doesnt let stars leave the building. Thats all from the first few hours of the tampering period and free agency hasnt even started yet officially so it should be a fun week or so, just nice to have some sort of sport to focus on at the moment."

I only just realised that Deandre Hopkins had left the Texans. That seems like a mental trade. The geezer is phenomenal

"Also Ryan Tannehill has just signed a deal worth almost £30M per season, really does pay well to be an average starting QB"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"All they had to do was dangle weed infront of them and the players accepted whatever they were given! Havent done a big dive on this yet but from what i heard on a podcast the players are just being fined instead of suspended now, so essentially rather than missing games they're playing for free which seems like a worse option for the players"
Re: NFL (since 2016)
New agreement with the players Union. Regular season expanded to 17 games. Two more teams make the playoffs. Expanded Roster. Bigger share of revenue for players and minimum player wage raised. Use of Marijuana no longer results in player suspension.

"Think thats a problem i have, just have no routing interest. Follow all the boston teams but the closest team to them i believe is the NY guardians and New york is like enemy number 1 in Boston with most sports."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
*Not sure ive actually seen anyone try for the 3 point score after a touchdown yet.* Game at the weekend with DC Defenders v LA Wildcats (I think). They were miles in front so had a try and the end of the game but it was incomplete. I've had to choose St. Louis Battlehawks because they are geographically closest to Kansas City Chiefs.

"I've had it on my 2nd screen when ive been home when a game is on, standard is pretty poor but some of the rule changes especially the kickoffs have a chance of catching on. Not sure ive actually seen anyone try for the 3 point score after a touchdown yet. I do like how they have sideline reporters shoving microphones in players faces almost immediately after a play, made for some great live TV reactions."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"in other news sounds like the owners have finalised their first CBA proposal where we may well be getting an additional playoff team in each conference so only the top seeds will get a bye. Also looking to add a 17th game to the season which sounds like it will be harder to get passed, throws up all sorts of technical problems like some teams will have more home games than others, also not sure how they decide who the extra game will be against. would assume you'd just play one team in the opposite conference who finished the same in their division as you did."

crystal falace 4:05 Fri Feb 21 Don't know his specific case but a lot of times it is case of not jettisoning a past or some friends rather than trying to make money per say.

"Gregg Robinson who has been a starting left tackle in the league since he was drafted about 5 years ago has been caught with over 150 pounds of weed in his car, faces up to 20 years in prison. Mad how brainless some of these players are, they reckon he's made over 20M in his career."

Brees back for another year. A few mixed feelings. See what this means for Hill. Happily be wrong and take a Super Bowl.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
I'm watching this now. Doesn't seem as good as College football to me. Perhaps that is because they are entirely new setups and gridiron needs a huge amount of different parts to know exactly what they are supposed to be doing in order to make plays work.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Big difference in quality but if it's entertaining then that's all that counts. Few interesting innovations like with the kick offs and the extra points. Good testing ground for ideas for the NFL and I think there's definitely space for this league to coexist if they can get enough interest in the games- stadiums aren't exactly packed out yet. Not sure about the play calls being mic'd up. It doesn't really add anything unless you know the playbook and terminology. I wonder how long before defences work out a way of stealing the calls, too..."

"So anybody watch the XFL last night? Saw bits of the DC game...quite enjoyed it actualy, liked the way the coach was mic up and you could hear him putting the plays in. High scoring aswell, although the defense was pretty atrocious as expected.....go DC!!!!!"
