NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Niners agree nee contract with Kittle 75 mill for 5 years. Highest paid T E ever. Baseball is best in October. I like the Dodgers so playoff ball has been pretty good these last few years. Although the cheating by the Astros and Red Sox has left a bad taste. They should both be stripped of the world series. If it didn't give them an unfair advantage they wouldn't have cheated.

A seahawks player has been cut after trying to sneak a random woman into his hotel room dressed up in full seahawks gear. Baffles me the decision making some of these idiots have

"I love watching baseball, particularly in person. It's very hard to follow from the UK though what with the time the games are played and the fact they're on every day."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
I've never got into baseball. And I was in or around Kansas City in 2015 when they won the world series. It was great to be in that whole atmosphere but the thing I could never get my head around is how people found the time to squeeze 162 games which last 3 hours each into their year. Munenori Kawasaki's interviews are worth watching though. Very entertaining!

"Grumps, huge baseball fan here, like you I found it boring before I went to live in Minnesota, which coincided with them winning the World Series in my first year there, once I understood the rules and the different nuances of the game, it became quite exciting to watch. The best player for the Twins for me was Kirby Puckett (RIP) and the most exciting player to watch for another team was Ichiro Suzuki for Seattle Great game"

If it comes to it I'll remove that last team and i'll run 2 teams myself. I'll say now no trades between either of my teams without approval from the majority i send here before it happens

"Always found ice hockey pretty boring, but i like loads of sport that no doubt many would feel the same. Went to school with Julian walby who played for the romford raiders many moons ago so watched a load of their games and also tried the nhl, but never done it for me. Same with baseball and basketball."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Have to be a bit more creative now if you want to put a QB on his arse. The old EA Hockey game was phenomenal. You could extend the game time by multiples of 3 or 4 if you put all the bruisers in and had loads of fights. Also meant you needed a new controllers every week though.

"crystal falace 8:31 Wed Aug 12 It did get bad like that for a while with money plays that couldn't be stopped. They have addressed that now so I think it has improved. I'm in the top 3% on H2H. If you fancy coming back to it, give me a shout."

"Is anyone into hockey? Ive been trying to watch some of it with the playoffs just starting but it just seems like chaos to me, follow a few people on twitter saying there's some good tactics going on but it just looks like dump it down the end and chase it. Saw the game last night lasted over 7 hours after going to a 5th overtime period! Dont know why they dont have a shootout at some point, looked great on the mighty ducks"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
No havent played for ages last one i owned was probably madden 15. They all started feeling a bit samey. Then you try and play online and people just run the same 3 or 4 plays over and over again its very frustrating.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
I dont begrudge sky or the bbc for doing it as i assume alot of people in this country are just starting to try and get into the NFL and it is a very complicated sport so they need to spoonfeed some of it to keep the viewers interested. But for people who understand the game now the American coverage is far superior and goes into the more nuanced version or the game as they assume their viewers already understand. For the record i found the best way to learn the game was madden on the xbox

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I much prefer watching the games on the NFL Gamepass app for that reason. The coverage of the games is much, much better. I also watch a lot of the sports talk shows during the week though and they are often terrible. Fake arguments and shouting are too often the order of the day. There was one notable exception, Speak For Yourself which had interesting, measured discussions. Unfortunately the host of that show has left though so I'm not sure how that will go now."

"Sky launching a 24/7 NFL channel starting early september, not sure what's going to be on it or what content you'll get. I always preferred the american coverage as English channels like sky and particularly BBC for the superbowl always seem to dumb everything down for newcomers"
