Hurts is hardly a world beater but at least he did a few things with his feet, scored 12 points, and to replace him with a practice squad player is not the action of a coach who is 'playing to win'. Of course there was no guarantee he would run in a third but there WAS a guarantee they weren't scoring any more points at all with Sudfield. Added to inexplicably not taking that FG to tie the game at 17-17 makes it pretty clear. Again you'd understand if they were down by 4, but not down by 3.
