NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Would call it a defensive masterclass, but in reality kansas were just fucking awful to a man (almost) and the bucs will never have an easier game."

"And Bieniemy must have just walked himself out of any HC post this off-season. I generally rate him, but he needed to deliver a line for Reid last night and he failed. They had injuries, of course, but that lack of adjustment to accommodate that...lost them the game."

"Reid must have been furious. His o-line was god-awful and his secondary gave away a field's worth of pass interference calls at crucial times. The Chiefs didn't turn up, mentally. The first thing they need to do in free agency or the draft, is find some solidity and depth at guard. If you insist on 3WR sets with a catching TE like Kelce, you have to have guards who can pass block, or your tackles get overwhelmed (like last night). Most guards are primarily run-creators. But Kansas don't really run the ball. Reid knows this. They'll be back."

"Yeah, the TO made no sense. Given what Brady did in the game against Rodgers, surely you'd run the clock down and take even a fiend goal against you at worst. I can only think that the Chiefs were so disorganised at that point, that they risked having 12 men on the pitch at the next snap? For defending champions, and a team that is generally very good, the Chiefs were a complete, disorganised shit-show last night. One of the worst performances by an offensive line I've ever seen...and I saw the Butt Fumble for gods sake!"

"I had to turn it off at HT. that time out call by Reid with less than a minute to go in the half was one of the worst I've ever seen. still haven't got a fucking clue why he did it, but that was the game right there. all I can say is our job gave the Bucs their hardest game in the playoffs, so it's the only positive I can take out of that shitshow last night"

"In fact, you now see why we're not yet getting too carried away about Saleh as HC: we've seen very good defensive minds come to NYC before now. Talented people like Bowles and Ryan couldn't move the football. It's very different when you're ultimately responsible for both sides of the ball."

"Mind you, it was a reminder of what a good defensive mind Bowles is. He was so tepid and uninspiring as head coach. But there's little doubting his defensive talent. He's one of those coaches who might be trapped as a co-ordinator. He was clueless about offense."

"Mark Sanchez could have won that game for the Bucs last night, that's how bad the Chiefs were at handling the Bucs defence. for that reason alone, White should have got mvp or make history and hand it to Todd Bowles, who came up with the perfect gameplan"

"I'm going to have to start TE-assessing GOAT territory at some point. I've always argued that Elway is the greatest QB of all time, and I still think he might be, talent-wise. But at some point even a hardened Jets fan has to think that SEVEN Super Bowls, now with two different teams, and not just under one incredible coach, the latest win as a 43 year-old, is beginning to look a lot like greatness..!"

"The Buccs deserved that win and more. They were significantly better than Kansas from start to finish. Defensively, they were excellent. Chiefs didn't turn up. They rely so heavily on Mahomes' individual brilliance and athleticism. But if you don't protect your QB then you can't win. And when you're missing your two starting guards, you can't just carry on your tactics as though those absences aren't real. The Chiefs made no adjustments, whatsoever, for the fact that they didn't have a guard worth the name. Didn't even bring a second TE onto the line to help block, or try to run the ball. I thought it was a decent final."

Game over. Kansas have had that horrible combination of playing poorly and zero luck. TB also just too good man for man.

Brady hasn't even gone deep yet (apart from pass that resulted in the trip penalty on Evans). He still has Evans and Godwin to go to.

"Scorch - bang on. The gap in quality between those two lines today is enormous. It's a complete mis-match and put Kansas under huge pressure. I know the Chiefs have been masters of the comeback in the past 18 months. But I can't see it here, unless they score very early in the 2nd half. I don't know who the back-up right tackle is on the Chiefs' roster, but regardless of who he is, I'd be asking him to move inside and play right guard in the 3rd quarter. He can't do any worse than the starter (who is a back-up anyway), and they need to double-(pass) block Mahomes' open-side. The Buccs have just strolled through that gap all night."

"Brady, Gronk and Brown are on fire, in all fairness to them. But the Chiefs have been as god-awful as I've seen from a Super Bowl team for decades. Those two o-line guards should not play another snap today. They might as well have stayed at home. Can't remember either of them making a notable block in 30 mins. Can't help but admire what the Buccs have done today, though."

SBBB- the line is patchwork. It's given a huge advantage to an already brilliant bucs defence.

Bucs were quite happy to run out the clock and go to halftime but chiefs calling timeout forced them to go for it. Now they're at the goaline

They are killing them selves with these penalties. The refs are only to happy to throw them against the chiefs though....
