NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Even though the Jets lost their last six games and the wheels fell of the season, it is a refreshing change as a fan not to be worrying too much about the head coach. First off season (for us) in a while where I've thought: there has been clear progress in the past 12 months and the HC has improved rather than got worse. Massive call to make on the QB. But I'll take Jimmy G or Baker Mayfield and let Wilson sit behind them for a season or two. A fit Jimmy G could take us to the play-offs. He's bang average - but that's an upgrade for us. The rest of the (talented) roster is begging for a half-decent play-caller..."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"McVay won't 'retire' as such. He might step away from the Rams, and the NFL, for a year or so. But my guess is he'll be back. Clearly one of those 'all in' blokes who throws every ounce of his weight at his job when he's in post. Some say he's suffering from 'burn out' as a consequence. I have no idea. I'm a bit old skool, and always a little sceptical about concepts like 'burn out'. Although I'm quite sure he's fucking knackered (physically and mentally) - is that the same thing?! He'll be back - he's clearly a good coach. Probably take a bit of time off and wait for Belichick or McCarthy to retire before having a chat with the Patsies and Cowboys..."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Basically""¶even though they share a stadium and city, the Jets and Giants don't really ""hate""ù each other in the way the Jets hate, say, the Patsies and Fish. They only play mid-season games against each other every four years, which makes the rivalry ""tasty""ù rather than intense. The only other way they could play each other during a season would be a Super Bowl. New York would go into meltdown if that ever happened (unlikely, given how shite the Jets have been under these owners!)."

"There's only one team in Gotham. That other lot are ok, but they're amateurs passing through! It's not West Ham-Millwall, but let's not get carried away with any love-in""¶"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
You might as well go for another New Jersey team but it'll only be for one week. Saw an interesting stat today. Dak Prescott leads the league in interceptions despite missing 5 games through injury. That's remarkable and doesn't bode well for him or the Cowgirls going forward.
Re: NFL (since 2016)
So a question to the Jets fans on here (inc myself of course) can we get behind the Giants or would that be like supporting Millwall !?!

Saints beat the Eagles at the weekend - although that was the FA Cup (same joke every season)

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Terrible performance especially from the special teams who are usually excellent killed us with two early turnovers inside the 20 Dak well off the pace not helped by having his centre and left tackle out Buccs who are by far the weakest divisional winners but seem to have a bit of a hoodoo over us hopefully put that to bed next week then I'm guessing eagles and 49's between us and glory tough with three on the road unless there's a massive upset

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"I'm most pleased about Saleh's emergence as a proper head coach this season. He is still a bit rough around the edges, and by no means the finished article as a leader. But he made big gains this season (with the exception of the QB position, for which he does have to take some responsibility). I wasn't convinced by him after a poor first season on defense. But, despite many injuries, he still made our defense look really solid - and sometimes more than that - at times this season. He's no Adam Gase, that's for sure."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"A season of real promise for the Jets faded away into another year of obscurity on the back of a huge injury list and yet another crisis around the QB position. But there were some positives - crucially including the emergence of Rob Saleh as a credible head coach who has positively impacted on at least one key part of his team: defense, which really stepped up this year. There is a lot of young talent on that Jets roster and many of them will continue to get a lot better, which bodes well. It's still a young team. But the wheels fell off when opponents worked out that Zach Wilson has not stepped up at QB at all. So now he has regressed considerably. And then the big injuries - to the O-line and, most worryingly, to a RB rookie (Breese Hall) who was a contender for the pro-bowl and rookie of the year. QB is THE massive off-season issue for Saleh now. His defence looks big, aggressive and with depth. It is beginning to look like Saleh's former 49ers defense. Williams (DT) is an absolute beast now and teams struggle to handle him. So few teams thump us - lots of narrow defeats this season that could be reversed by a decent QB who gets the offense moving. Put us in the large group of teams with below-average QB capacity, who need an upgrade. Either Zach Wilson has to burst his own ego and work harder, or we bring in an established veteran to throw to a receiver set which has talent. Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore are both fine targets. Play-offs will get interesting. No stand-out team just yet. The 49ers are rolling."

"Another regular season in the bag, it went by so quick. Niners with their 10th win in a row""¶. Seattle up next Saturday. A lot of talk that McVay won't be returning to the Rams next year, plus there is speculation that Donald will retire too""¶.. Poor old Burnsy! Purdy and the Niners are firing on all cylinders""¶. Every week it's an easy 30 Burger for this offense. Can't wait for the playoffs!"
