NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Haha! Kaepernick is a deluded nutjob. Even the Jets owners aren't that stupid. They are weapons-grade thick. But not nuclear-grade. Joe Namath: 'I wouldn't keep him. I've seen enough of Zach Wilson."" Can't remember who, but one of the big TV pundits rattled off Zach Wilson's career stats and compared them with those for JaMarcus Russell - one of the biggest NFL busts ever. Incredibly, the two sets of stats were almost identical!"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
I did joke to myself when Rodgers got injured how long it would take Kaepernick to put himself forward. I see he still calls himself an Elite QB when he hasn't played for 6 years.

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Def, It's awful, mate, isn't it? Invested far too much of the team's future on one man - albeit one of the best QBs ever in his heyday. This is exactly what some fans were warning them about. He's almost 40. It's not his fault - he signed an amazing contract put in front of him. But as you get older your arm goes and you get more prone to injuries - as a rule. Lo and behold, his achilles pinged in game 1. Freak injury, sure, but one more likely to happen as you age. I can see this season really turning nasty in terms of the fans. They're like West Ham and they won't sit quietly. Feel a bit sorry for Saleh, who started slowly as head coach and then really began to build something - particularly on defense - last season. He has built a very strong defense. But if your offense can't even score enough points to win a game when your defense holds the Patsies to 13 points (the other 2 were from a safety) then you're screwed. I'm quite sure Saleh and Douglas got told Rodgers was coming in - it sounds like Woody Johnson drove that deal. They could have said ""no"", of course. But I guess Rodgers' reputation went before him. What made the whole situation worse was then building the entire offense around a near 40 year-old. New OC, cherry-picked skills players because they are mates with Rodgers etc. That's not what Douglas and Saleh have been about. But the fans will turn on them if this carries on for yet another season. Gotham. Bedlam."

"southbankbornnbred 11:39 - First time since I started supporting the Jets in the 80's that I've actually been buzzing, Now it's back to the usual Jets shit show. Still at least the old logo made a comeback for a bit. So pretty much the same vibe I'm picking up in your post."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"According to some ""insider"" reports, some senior/well-placed Jets folk are saying it could be all over for Rodgers after his achilles injury. I have no idea if that's the case - seems a bit early for anybody to judge that, given that Rodgers doesn't really know how long it will take him to recover. I'd have guessed he'll have a better idea in two months or so, when the post-op scans will indicate how well he's healing up. He hasn't made any noises about not playing again. We'll see. In the meantime, the same reports are hinting that the top brass know its over for Zach Wilson, too. They signed Trevor Siemien - third choice QB in Cincinnati - yesterday with some of their remaining cap space. There are rumours that they will turn to Siemien if Wilson loses the next game, and then most likely flunk the season (Siemien is shit: he didnd't make our roster in 2019!). What a shitshow. Not Rodgers' fault - but the entire franchise has imploded once again because the clueless owners tried to buy a title via one ageing legend - rather than let Douglas and Saleh keep building slowly. So that's this season fucked already - everybody seems to be giving up. FIFTEEN straight losses to the Patsies. Hope these awful soap queens sell up soon..."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
What I really enjyed about the Dolphins game was the sheer running speed (and Jalen Waddle wasn't even on the pitch). I don't think I have seen a defence flailing about and left for dead so often since the chiefs track meet receiver group were creating havoc. I read that 5 of the 6 top speeds so far this season were set in the first half alone. .

"back down to earth yesterday, and as much as sam howell struggled, it was the lack of pressure on josh allen that was most worrying. at times he could have read a book while reading the field, he had that much time"

"Defense still looks good, though. No complaints there. The problem they have is they will spend a LOT of time on the field this season - and get bashed up because of it."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Just re-watched the 'highlights' (if you can call them that) of the Jets game - to make sure I was actually watching a real-life game yesterday. It worse than I remember second time around. Zach Wilson is completely shot. He was a bit of a clueless jock anyway, but has absolutely no idea what he's doing in that niche ""Rodgers"" system they're running without Rodgers. At one point, Wilson sacked himself. It is quite hilarious, he's spinning around to try to elude tackles and just falls over. It will go down in Jets history alongside the Butt Fumble! Seriously, we have $9m of cap room and the best thing the Jets can do now is take the best QB free agent on the market. Either that, or strip the playbook right down to just two or three throwing options that Wilson does understand - and hope that he stumbles through enough of the season before a linebacker breaks him in half. They've ended up running a niche offensive playbook built entirely around an expensive QB legend who may never play for us again. Nobody else on the team seems to understand it. Only in New York, folks..."

"726 yards of total offense for Miami. Unreal! Zona beats the Cowboys""¶.Dak throws a pick on a 3rd and goal to pull the score within a TD with 3 mins and 3 timeouts left. That should shut up the Cowboy fans for a while."

"On the plus side, there's some half-funny footage of a Jets fan in the stadium almost losing his teeth while cunting off the team from the sidelines! It is going to be another LONG year in Gotham."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"In stark contrast, I'm watching the Jets and it is fucking painful. Again! All the hope of a good season evaporated after four plays of the first game. When Rodgers went down, it seemed to suck the life out of even Saleh. Now, we've got a struggling quarterback (Wilson), who was supposed to sit and learn behind Rodgers for at least a year, trying to lead an offense designed by a co-ordinator who was brought in because he ran Rodgers' complex offense in Green Bay. Wilson is shot to shit already. He has no idea what he's doing in this system. He keeps looking at areas of the field where there are no receivers. I feel a bit sorry for him, even though he's an over-confident jock. He was struggling in the NFL anyway - now he's trying to run a notoriously difficult offense he has not had the time to learn. Just run the football. All season long. Where's Mike ""fucking"" White when you need him?!"

Re: NFL (since 2016)
Diggs with a torn ACL is a massive blow Having two shutdown corners was making it hard for QB's tk get the ball out early which in turn was helping the pass rush get home Not sure if they'll make a move or go with Bland moving to the outside
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"CMC is fine, they are limiting his snap count to keep him fresh for the entire season. You can expect more of the same moving forward. Mitchell and Mason will get more Carrie's especially if we are comfortably ahead. We missed Aiyuk yesterday but the new kid Bell looks like a great find, Just have to stay healthy. Now we have a long week to prepare for the Cardinals."
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Another comfortable win and some great beasting runs after catch from Deebo. Hope McCaffrey is all good, was counting my money at halftime but then he was literally only given about 4 players in the entire 2nd half to shaft me bet wise and probably annoy every fucker who has him in their fantasy team."

"nutsin, they conceded over 200 yards on the ground against the eagles. the problem the chargers have is their pass defence has been terrible and they may get behind early against a vikings air attack that's been great both weeks"
Re: NFL (since 2016)
Can Akers traded to the Vikes. Ekeler still out injured not looking like he will play against the Vikes this week. Looks like Joshua Kelly will get the start again. Bad showing last week for Kelly but lit it up against the Dolphins week 1. How's the Vikes Run D? If I was playing fantasy I'd be all over either of these two.
