"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Anyone have a new coach they want to give the Saints? Or at least an O-lineman or 2?

Nutsin 5:47 Mon Nov 13 Joshua Dobbs must be the best back-up QB in the NFL. Watched most of the match on NFL Redzone as he was almost always there. Given how little time he has been with Vikings it bodes well once he has the entire playbook down.

"Looks pretty open this year which is good. Most of the quality teams have had games where they've been made to look average and before Young came in to help get proper pressure on the QB, our secondary was looking absolutely atrocious."

"Niners are back. An utterly dominant performance against a Jags team that had been in a 5 game win streak. Trent Williams and Deebo came back from injury and we are back to scoring over 30 points per game. Chase Young is a nice addition to our D. Lost count of how many sacks we got and turn overs. Seahawks are pretenders, they've had an easy run of games and have been beaten by any good teams they have played. With the exception of the Lions who have improved since week 2. Seattles next 5 games will expose them, they'll be lucky to get 1 win. Anyway Tampa up next. Onwards and upwards!"

"Belichick under a lot of pressure in New England after another defeat. But that shouldn't mask another god-awful effort by the Jets' offense - and another defeat for them despite more excellent defensive play. The Rodgers gamble has been a clusterfuck, through no fault of the ageing QB. But the accompanying lack of investment in the o-line means relying on back-up Zach Wilson to try to win games with no protection is putting victories beyond Saleh's excellent defense."

"Saleh has to defend his QB, of course. But he damned Wilson with feint praise after the Chargers loss, in which we didn't even score a touchdown and he got sacked eight times. ""No, I'm not going to say it was even close to his worst game.""ù Which effectively amounts to: if you think THAT was bad, just watch him next week!"

"Lab, Wilson is just not comfortable throwing the ball in the NFL. He's not yet a good quarterback, despite his promise. The only improvement he has made this season, is that he seems prepared to take a hit for the team - and he's throwing a few less interceptions as a result. But that's it, really. The injury to Rodgers absolutely rodgered us! We have to think about a long-term QB - which might even mean writing off the hugely expensive experiment with Rodgers. He's 40 in December. But he has been so expensive that we couldn't invest in the offensive line, which means the back-up is getting smashed up and can't throw the ball (he can't anyway, but the o-line issue makes it worse)."

My other fantasy league had the closest result I've ever seen: 88.44 versus 88.40. Every yard literally did count!

"'More like two tramps fighting over the last dregs of meths in a Kwik Save car park.' ag ag ag Proper made me chuckle that especially as it's spot on. Maybe it was the weather, injuries etc but there was literally nothing to the game till the last minute. I think even with Rogers we'd probably be chuffed to be 4-3 now, maybe 5-2 at a push."

"defjam 1:26 Mon Oct 30 Re: NFL (since 2016) Def, It was a woeful game, wasn't it?! It didn't feel like a prestige match-up between the two professional sides from America's biggest city. More like two tramps fighting over the last dregs of meths in a Kwik Save car park. But somehow we're now 4-3 even during this dumpster fire of a season. I'll take it. Zach Wilson seems to have grown up in one respect - he's prepared to take some pain in order to be the team's QB. He still can't really throw well and his decision-making, and check-downs, are just plain awful. But the running game is working and the kickers (including the punter) have been superb - regularly putting teams inside their own 10 yard line at the start of drives. The O-Line is bashed up, though. At some point, a defense is going to rip the QB in half!"

"zeb, they were both in their final year so only one had a chance to get paid, and after handing DT darron payne a massive extension in the spring so it wasn't unexpected but the positivity of the new owner's arrival has quickly disappeared. we now have a dead man walking in rivera, and the remaining nine games looking like a non event. this may not be the last, captain johnathan allen may also be moved on. that may be a stretch given his contract, but I think anything is possible at the moment"

Takashi Miike 10:31 Tue Oct 31 On the face of it absolutely baffling as your defence are good. Having said that I have no idea what the contract situations are with those two but betting on Washington's front office to do the business in the draft is a stretch.

"Do they do one with sequins for Ball? Touch to call this year (so the Seahawks shout may not be as absurd as it might sound) as there appears to be precisely zero good teams. Eagles have the best record in the league, but no one who watches them every week would tell you they're playing well, or anywhere near the levels of last year. Also heading into a brutal schedule of Cowboys, Chiefs, Bills, 9ers, Cowboys, Seahawks with a QB on one leg. Chiefs have stuttered all year, Bills aren't as good as last year, Cowboys are hot and cold, and the 9ers - well, the silence on here for 3 weeks tells you everything. A lot to say for themselves prior."
