"A neighbour of mine has been ringing migrant birds for years and collecting data on them. Basically you had more trouble from resident birds than the migrant birds. Trouble being those resident birds attacking and being nasty towards the migrant birds. He's witnessed all sorts, a great tit pecking the life out of a migrating willow warbler that had only stopped off for a quick bite to eat before heading off again. I won't post the entire data as I'll leave that to the other boring bastards on this thread to fight it out between themselves."

"The number of asylum seekers being granted refugee status has hit the highest level since records began nearly 40 years ago. Official figures, published on Thursday, showed that 67,978 asylum claims were granted by the Home Office in the year to June ""ì more than triple the 21,436 in the previous year. The number is even higher than during the asylum crisis in the early 2000s. I'm sure that bit of news will be embraced positively by everyone."

"Oh there are plenty like you in Poland, Twundle. But like in the U.K, they need to be properly organised to make a real nuisance of themselves at a national level. Many times they are, hence the stereotype that Poland is a racist country when by far the majority of Poles are well-educated enough not to be anything like you."

Pickle has nightmares where he's wearing a full Charlton replica kit from 1986 running slowly through mud away from David Starkey and Douglas Murray whilst trying to explain why Poland has no anti-islam barriers at its Xmas markets - at the same time he is eating a list that shows the jam roles are one of the highest numbers of foreign prisoners banged up in the UK

"Since 1900, the prison population has quadrupled in size, going from just over 17,400 to around 83,100 in 2023. During the same time, the adult* population of England and Wales just over doubled in size, so the rate of imprisonment relative to the population has increased. The prison population was relatively stable between 1915 and 1945, after which point it began to grow steadily. In the mid-1990s, it began to rise steeply, with the prison population going on to double in size between 1992 and 2012. Over the most recent decade, the prison population shrunk temporarily ""ì in part due to the pandemic ""ì before returning to the same level as in the early-2010s. To put the numbers in context, in 1901 there were around 86 prisoners per 100,000 people aged 15 and over in the general population and in 2021 there were 159 per 100,000.11 The lowest rate recorded was at the start of the 1940s when there were around 33 prisoners per 100,000 people aged 15 and over. https://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/SN04334/SN04334.pdf"

"Imagine if we were in the early days of civilisation and there was a little remote village, with only one cell available. And then the bloke currently in the cell, guilty of raping and half killing a woman was let out almost halfway through their sentence, because the local mayor thought it more appropriate to bang up a bloke who'd kicked the villages police car. Imagine multiplying that by hundreds, thousands even. It would be mental wouldn't it, Ridiculous. Roll on a few years for some more ""òlessons learnt' and another huge public enquiry."
