West Ham Trialist Seals Burnley Agreement

Burnley have completed the signing of centre-back John Egan following his recent trial with West Ham United.

Egan, 31, joins the Clarets on a deal that will keep him at Turf Moor until the end of the season. The Republic of Ireland international had been a free agent after his contract with Sheffield United expired in late June, leaving him to explore his next move. Egan had been training with Premier League side West Ham, but Burnley have moved quickly to snap up the experienced defender.

Would prefer us to use Casey as our 4th centre back rather than the journeyman Egan who struggled to get into a Sheff U team that conceded 100 goals
