Anderlecht interested in signing West Ham target Oumar Solet on a free transfer

According to Sacha Tavolieri, RSC Anderlecht are interested in signing French defender Oumar Solet (24) on a free transfer. The former France U21 international is a free agent following the mutual termination of his contract at RB Salzburg.

Solet looked destined to leave Salzburg in the summer transfer window after he was linked with a move to West Ham United. The Lyon academy graduate was also linked with potential moves to Liverpool and Manchester United.  In the end, Hoffenheim looked like the most likely destination for the 24-year-old as he event underwent a medical. However, the move collapsed as he failed the medical.

The Belgian side are considering a move for Solet following an injury to former Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen. Anderlecht are currently assessing the extent of the former Belgian international’s injury but could accelerate on a deal to sign the French centre-back with contacts already established with the former Salzburg defender’s representatives.
