Ads Experiment
We're currently running an 'Ads' experiment to try and balance site income with irritation. Some feedback has been the top and bottom ads are in trusive, so those on desktop will currently be seeing ads in the side panels of the site as opposed to them appearing over content.
Let us know in the poll which are least irritating.

Re: Ads Experiment
I see I'm in the minority voting for ads at the top. It's just I mainly use a tablet or phone and I scroll down to the posts and the ads to comply off the page, so I do not see them at all!
Also Stubbo, how do the ads work. I once read that if people open the ads the site earns more money. If there is something simple like that we can do to earn more money for the site, let me know and I'll do it no problem.

Re: Ads Experiment
Being the ad agency VETRAN here my professional opinion, ads are only annoying if they are not relevant. From my office in Las Vegas I'm currently seeing ads for ebay listing sneakers for 7 grand and a jacket for 2 grand.
Being a largely male audience, older, decent house hold income I'd contact media vine for a fixed media buy. Its a better standard of ads than lowball meds, milfs near you type stuff.
