This site (WHO growth plans)
I think this warrants its own thread.
Could the moderators and admin please outline the growth plans for this site now the new site is up and running?
The poll results and main forum highlight that the site only currently has about 10 active members, which is pretty depressing and pathetic.
This could be the place to outline and suggest ideas and plans.

“The 'modern young folk' have plenty of places online they can gather together and discuss their identities and allegiances and what have you.”
plus offline where they have the centre of pavements and also the insides of pubs, where half a pint can suffice for 3 hours, and the use of a megaphone becomes superfluous.

Just an aside, If l may suggest,
brightonandhovealbiononline.net is a great site for you to try.
I’m on there a lot, banging the drum about how successful their wonderful DOF system, is.
Also, whenever I’m on there, something interesting always seems to pop up.
Hope this helps,
X

- 138 known users have actively logged into the site today.
- 225 known users have logged into the site across today and yesterday.
- 400 have logged in since we went 'live' end of August.
The old WHO appeared to have very little traffic towards the end, based on how slowly posts were disappearing to page 2 due to fewer threads being created. I don't think the move to the new site has caused activity to slow down. If anything we have welcomed old posters back.
I now love the new site, btw. Just needed a bit of time to adjust, visually. Very grateful for the work you three have done.
Please ignore calls to turn this place into a 'safe space', lined with cotton wool. We're mostly Boomers and Gen X-ers on here. Let us have somewhere on the Internet we can just be ourselves without walking on eggshells. The 'modern young folk' have plenty of places online they can gather together and discuss their identities and allegiances and what have you.

You can do that yourself, if you're able to use that tiny brain of yours.
No wonder you're such a wimp if you think that was bullying.

Should the final option really be making light/ fun of suicide given there is a pinned anxiety/ depression thread on this site?I'm happy to change it, and have done, but I'd question just how 'PC' the whole site is. Do we want to police every comment that could be a problem to someone? The site has always been, what I'll best describe as, 'edgey' and rarely has any subject matter been 'off limits'.
Gallows humour is very much a part of that.
Thanks. It just seemed a bit off to me to have that option making light of suicide when there is a depression/ anxiety thread that is regarded as sacrosanct and in which posters were carded on the old site for making light of.
I definitely think suicide-based 'gallows humour' should be off limits.

Re: This site (WHO growth plans)
You'll be asking for KPIs and weekly 'lessons learned' zoom meetings next.
Re: This site (WHO growth plans)
Get that filthy and bigoted mind cleansed. You will feel better for it.
Re: This site (WHO growth plans)
Sure. Although we won't require a login for that section. People can just enter the site through the tradesmen's entrance.

I can give you some figures about how active the site is. In the past 30 days there were 36,000 unique visitors (that obviously includes repeat visits per user) and over 5 million page requests (some of that will be bots etc). So it's not quite the lonely niche of weirdos that we like to think we are. But those figures also flatter as many of those visits are bots and people who got lost down a Google search looking for cunts (literal ones).
The ratio of people (including signed up members) that read our ramblings compared to those that actually post is significantly in favour of the readers. So some of us are actually saying things of interest to people. We can't know which ones (unless we stick up a poll?).
As for plans. Probably best for others to have their say with that. I am willing to play a part in helping progress any of those plans but my motivation for my involvement has alway been to keep a good thing going while pissing off as few people as possible. So I have been occupied by wiping my knob on the bits that I thought my knob would be useful being wiped on. There's a bit of technical debt/reorganisation behind scenes to take on for the short term. But I am sure North bank & Stubbo have some good ideas to add to those they have already implemented.
