Lopetegui (sacked 8.1.2025)
I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season
Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit
We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge
But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

If you want to start doing comparisons, let's see if Arsenal pump us 0-6 at our place. We've already avoided shipping 5 away at Palace and Fulham.
Stop the Moyes bollocks, he had to go, the fact it looks like a dud has replaced him doesn't mean the initial decision wasn't right ffs
Calm yourself down ya lemon. Them results apart from fulham were in the 2nd half of the season
if it meant getting this cսnt most would of stuck with moyes.

Re: Lopetegui
At this stage last year:
We had beaten the rent boys
Ended our horrible record against Brighton
Bowen was on fire
We had 10points (6points more then now)
Conceded 7 (2 less then now)
Scored 10 (5 more then now)
Still a way to go but Moyes justs edges it

Re: Lopetegui
It's all looking rather ominously familiar to any older WHU fan , we've seen it all before.
far too early to start getting all SPURSY..
But unless the performances, let alone the results, don't start to improve double - lively....floppy-Loppy could be facing the Spanish - Archer by December

Give the cսnt a chance eh.
A chance to relegate us, like we gave Roeder and Grant chances?
Anyone with a functioning brain can see 'loser Lop' is a deadbeat fraud. The idiotic cheapskate main shareholding owner won't sack him though, think of all that compo the club would have to pay.

Fuck all will change while we have Sullivan having the final say. He is waiting for someone to come up with he's number. And he be off. Coaches/Managers come and go. Players come and go. Hopefully he will be gone. Soon enough.? Moaning about anything else that's under his control is pointless.Literally.!

Say what you like about Moyes but at least we had a style of play, defend and counter attack, which worked perfectly when we had Bowen and a prime Antonio and Lingard. Moyes fault was not bringing in younger, quicker players.
No one can tell me what Lopeteguis style of play is? We don't press, we don't pass, we don't attack, we don't defend, we don't run and the players look thoroughly disinterested. What does he do in training sessions? Do you think they don't understand him?
Brighton always find better managers to replace previous managers, we just seem to attract worse ones.
Get rid of this cսnt and cut our losses, get someone in that can organise a team because on this form we are going down.

You ain’t half dumb ‘feet.
Moyes ‘style of play’ conceded 5 against Palace, Fulham and Chelsea last season.
Under Moyes last season we didn’t do all those things you listed, and yet you’re still fingering your mum over him.

Re: Lopetegui
That horrific performance was all on Lopetegui. He couldn't have mismanaged that much worse than he did and he's all on his own defending that piss poor performance. The Player's are just not getting it and it all just looks so confused and dysfunctional.
On top of all that his decision making like taking off our best player Summerville was fucking pathetic and deserved the heckling from the stands when he got subbed. Weren't impressed he never played Ings at all, or even started him for that matter having scored our last goal in the last minute of the last game he played for us. And don't get me started on persevering with the hapless Mavropanos at the heart of our defence, whilst Todibo continues to kick his heels on the bench. He has his head up his arse if he's making such glaring errors and it won't be tolerated if he continues to make such big mistakes.
The heat is now well and truly on you Lopetegui and you only have yourself to blame for that.

Re: Lopetegui
Stumbled across this old article and it doesn't instil you with confidence, especially the paragraph -
"This was a team that had become one of the most successful in history, winning three consecutive Champions Leagues before Zinedine Zidane's exit. But when Real Madrid looked for Zizou's successor, they turned to the Spanish version of David Moyes"
How did it go so wrong for Julen Lopetegui at Real Madrid?

The I told you so brigade already wetting their knickers.
Yes it's not been great so far and today was shit but still very early days. Only 5 games.
He will get this season and next season too unless things become really dire.
We won't go down and I still expect him to be a success here.

Re: Lopetegui
To begin with I found myself looking at certain parts of his CV and thinking 'yup he'll be good', but if i'm honest he was never anywhere near any list of who I wanted to bring in. When his name came up I kinda talked myself into the appointment.
The performances so far are ringing some serious alarm bells - we don't look like a team and I couldn't tell you what our game plan was. I've seen nothing that makes me think he will turn this around.
We missed a trick when Marco Silva's contract was running down last season.

Re: Lopetegui
I'm still giving him this season.
The club will too unless we are in a dire position come Xmas.
Miffed however about some of the signings. Fulkrug is similar to Ings and not what was needed, will not score goals in this system whatever it is.
Why did we spent 25m on a Guilherme a young player who is clearly not going to get any meaningful game time in an area we are probably best stocked in already?
Todibo needs to be starting alongside Killman so they can build a solid partnership, he's not going to settle in by never playing, we spent months chasing him, he was wanted by Man U & Juve so what the fuck is going on there?
He has a 5 game buy clause, surely we aren't now trying to avoid it, something's up for sure, not as if Mavrapanos has been that good, cost us 3 or 4 goals already this season.
Still giving him the season though, Arteta was one game away from the sack for about 18 months.

Re: Lopetegui
We (West Ham supporters) are getting a lot of stick on BBC Have Your Say for wanting Moyes out, the "careful what you wish for" shit you'd expect. No doubt we are copping it all over social media too.
This appointment is not down to us supporters but down to the cheapskate main shareholder who has never paid compensation for a manager ever and only appoints unemployed managers.
'Loser Lop' was out of work for a year after he threw his toys out of the pram at Wolves. No one woild touch him as he was and is damaged goods. Only the cheapskate idiot Sullivan would hire a clown who has been sacked from every managerial job he has ever had prior to his Wolves hissy fit.
The sooner we fire this loser and get a proper manager in, the better, as we are heading for a relegation battle under this complete and utter clown.

Re: Lopetegui
I listened to Radio 5 during the game and they were all scornful towards Lop and the way he had us playing along with the attitude of the players. Mav also got seriously slagged off. They were already questioning when Lop will get the sack.

Early days still but could be gone by Xmas.
Depressing when you think Fulham, Brentford, Brighton and Palace have better managers . Looks like the dwarf has gone for the cheap option in a 2nd rate Moyes.
