15 Years gone - Millwall
Thought i'd pop in after about 15 years on the the new board (not bad for all who have made it happen - well done). - and see whats what.
First and foremost RIP to all the Whoers who have passed in that time - obvioulsy foe's in their time but respect to one and all. We all lived in better times in the last century
Indeed within those 15 years i have come to respect those oldens more i suspect, especially against the backdrop with what is going on in this country and more specifically the tosspots who seem to infest the game now, - crowds, players and media.
All i can say to the Generation Z'ers on here - you never know what you missed in the last century when it came to following your team.
Across the water to the Sunny Uplands we are just about, thankfully, hanging on to our dinosaur status and probably the last club to do so. - but we to face challenges like bending our knees, mouthing an obscenity, making a warranted hand gesture - all being seized upon as if they are crimes of the century.
I hope before my time is up that the F.A just once more do us all a favour and allow in one of their competitions an 'informal' meet to 'renew' old acquaintances - hope this invite will not allow any Generation Z'ers near the meet.

It didn't have a patch on the December 88 and November 90 fixtures at the den . Way more trouble then .

Re: 15 Years gone - Millwall
Staying with the off topic
Standing at football is not inherently unsafe
Can remember at Tottenham they used to divide the away end into separate pens & your ticket was for one of them
Every new ground like Everton could incorporate that easily at either end of the stadium.
Would be possible almost everywhere else like London Stadium by taking seats out of the lower tier at the ends
ps I still don’t accept that Liverpool fans bear NO responsibility for Hillsborough

Re: 15 Years gone - Millwall
A bit off topic, but the Hillsborough lies and subsequent law changes really fucked up the going to games. No pint watching the game and then no stands. Crap measures brought in because the police lied and said it was all due drunken cunts, when it was all incompetent police and politicians.

@Gank
We sorted out Council Scum's access and he has logged in, so is still 'active' at least.

Re: 15 Years gone - Millwall
Speculation for some time about expanding the New Den (over 30 years old already !) to get the capacity up around 30,000
Crystal Palace now have full planning permission to build a big new main stand to replace their small ancient one
Fulham riverside stand nearly complete
Arsenal looking to add another 10,000 seats

Re: 15 Years gone - Millwall
Enclosing that end of the suburb with so many flats could create a ghetto, the complete opposite of what they’re trying to accomplish with the project.
Mr. Millwall hasn’t been seen on here for even longer than you. Council Scum is a great friend of mine who I see regularly, I don’t think he’s posted on the new site yet.
It isn’t anything like how WHO used to be, I’m glad it’s been kept alive but the days of pub lunches on a Friday then spending the afternoon in the office crying with laughter as people genuinely offered to meet up for a punch up have long gone. Along with pub lunches, I suppose.

Re: 15 Years gone - Millwall
Yes that correct.
If you saw the pictures the area around our ground will be literally another place on Earth within 20 years - literally hemmed in by 30 storey skyscrapers (housing).
All done in stages - first block is going up now
Luckily i dont think i'll be around to see it completed...will be full of the latest immigrants to arrive here....
Somewhere in that projected maelstrom is our football ground.
Like i said originally just gald i experienced the old ground and you herbets plotting up occasionally with a throng of support that were very very much the enemy.

Full Rug is one of those sad noobs who would jump at the chance to kiss a Millwall arse if it meant turning on his own. Very embarrassing

Re: 15 Years gone - Millwall
All changed in 15 years aint it?
Good 20% of our home crowd now i reckon are foreign tourists. Some Marvellous - some more worried about the state of their pixels and bucket lists.
So we are not immune.....but still an anarchical undercurrent that can surface from time to time (i.e the knee a few years ago).
The other shame couldnt really comment about football matters at your club as we are as many miles apart as we have ever been.
But suspect there are a few on here whose political allegiances align.
