The Geordies are doing well but, like just about every other side, not good enough to beat the champions. Simple as that. Away win.

ARSENAL vs LEICESTER CITY (1500)
Jose Mourinho would have been so proud of Arsenal’s bus parking last weekend. Mr Arteta would also have a good deal of pride in his side’s second half performance until so, so late on. Time to get things back on track. Home win.

BRENTFORD vs WEST HAM UNITED (1500)
Oh, FFS. Home win.


CHELSEA vs BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION (1500)
Not much between these two. Aside from territorial advantage. Should be a decent, tight game. Home win.

EVERTON vs CRYSTAL PALACE (1500)
Well, at last Everton have opened their points account for the season, but only alphabetical order keeps them off the foot of the table. Still, avoiding defeat has probably instilled a bit of confidence in Sean Dyche’s side. Palace have been a bit disappointing and are probably better than their current position suggests. Draw.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST vs FULHAM (1500)
A key relegation candidate, but Forest sit above the impressive Fulham in the table. Two impressive tacticians meet. Draw.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs LIVERPOOL (1730)
Many would have expected a lot more from Wolves so far this campaign. Instead, they’re rooted to the bottom of the table. Gary O’Neil, you’re dancing with fire, old boy. And sorry to say there’s more fire on the way today. Away win.

IPSWICH TOWN vs ASTON VILLA (1400)
Tough one for Ipswich, but they’ve impressed with their determination. Meanwhile, Villa are just a point off leaders Man City. Only one outcome, right? Away win.

MANCHESTER UNITED vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (1630)
An underwhelming start to the season for these two mid-table sides, neither of whom should be mid-table. Both managers are under pressure and will desperately want to win this – or at least to avoid defeat. Draw.

BOURNEMOUTH vs SOUTHAMPTON (2000)
Not the most tempting of Monday evening offerings. The Saints are already in trouble, although the Cherries aren’t quite out of sight. Home win.

West Brom remain top and today visit lowly Sheff Wed, while second-placed Sunderland go to Watford who are fighting for a play-off place. One spot below them, Oxford host Burnley. Further down the table, Millwall who sit in 18[sup]th[/sup] place with five points from six outings take on Preston. Last night, meanwhile, an early goal put Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth on the way to dispatch Luton who have had a disappointing opening to the season.

The analysis of our game was basically going on about Brentford scoring in the 1st min for a third successive match and no mention of us at all

Watching MOTD I was shocked on how often goalkeepers and defenders get caught out with these short goal kicks and passes in their own area, talk about creating your own problems.  Quite miss a Phil Parkes/Ludo Miklosko long punt down the pitch!

I missed the game yesterday so tuned into MoTD to see some highlights.

The level of punditry was abysmal. Walcott and Richards and then treated to high pitch woman commentator on our game, I was glad it was brief,  shown last as usual, 

Of course they ignored all the controversial decisions that go against the small clubs. Time to bin it and stop paying Linekar so much

It's not time to "bin it", but it sounds like it's time for you to own the responsibility for not watching it.

Chelsea should have had about 10 and should have been about 8-4 at h/t
Palmer unlucky to have 4 maybe about 7 would have been about right
The Brighton child manager set up with a ludicrous high line. Need to pressure them as their playing out is abysmal

I think Palmers secret is that there is nothing going on in his head except football. No doubts , no distractions… if footballers are too smart they over think the game
I know Pep has a lot of good players but selling him instead of Grealish was a complete blunder
Took Salah out of my Fantasy Team to bring back Palmer. Back of the net (x4)

Not using Palmer & Gordon instead of the over rated Saka may well have cost England the Euros under the half wit Southgate

VAR has looked at a penalty claim and an elbow, in both cases if one team is at fault city it would be a penalty or a red, but both cases should have been a Newcastle yellow.. But VAR can't give that, so it's a one sided review.. VAR is ridiculous. In my opinion of course.. 

I see your point, but VAR is there just to look at any big decisions, I wouldn't say it's ridiculous because it doesn't get involved with lesser incidents, even if said incidents may be spotted when reviewing the big calls.

Yeah I agree but the whole thing is ridiculous for that reason. The game was stopped to look at an incident which was caused by blatant cheating yet there's nothing they can do about the blatant cheating.

I do like Palmer's attitude to the game and his high standards ''hey, I'm just kicking a bag of leather around a field, it's really not that hard you know'' and having a moan after he should have had 5 or 6. Now worth way north of a 100 mil.

Twice in not much more than 30 seconds VAR looked at fouls on Newcastle players, both were blatant dives, just waved away.

Tonali going down like that and not even getting a yellow card is one of the main reasons why I’ve fallen out of love with the game
